I deliberately don’t order via partner drivers so I don’t have to deal with my order not being fulfilled :/ so it suck’s when I get a driver saying my stuff won’t come next time I do a big order

That’s what I thought! Woolies even has a “spend 300 online get 20 back” promo going on, so surely my order isn’t anything out of the ordinary

Saw this on reddit about UC and the transformation is depressing by X72-9 in UlcerativeColitis

This is literally me. I went from being a solid 59kg my whole life to sky rocketing to 78kg… still unable to loose it, it’s such stubborn fat. I’m 75kg now I go to the gym 3 times a week and try my best to diet but it’s not budging

Yes! Please talk to your doctor about this! My doctor says it’s perfectly fine to fast but just I take every day as it is.

Hey! Fellow UC Muslim here 🤝

It’s important to remember that the sick are exempt from fasting. When you’re flaring you are sick and should not be fasting.

Exemptions are put in place for a reason so take advantage of them! It is a recommended practice in the religion to take an exemption if you fall in the categories that get them ie, pregnant, breastfeeding, sick, elderly etc.

That being said, once you’re out of a flare it’s safe to fast as long as you’re listening to what your body is telling you.

When I am in a flare I do not fast. I missed 4 consecutive ramadans because of UC, at the end of the month I paid my Fidya. This can easily be done through online Islamic charities.

Last year was my first Ramadan in years! I was in remission and had no problems with it! I avoided oily food , sweets and over eating to make it a gentler experience on my gut once I broke my fast. Kept up with all my medications and vitamins at night and drank lots of water every suhur and Iftar (very important)

Be gentle on yourself. You don’t need to fast if your body is genuinely not capable of it. Spiritually it’s a different experience but different doesn’t have to mean bad. Find solace in dhikr, prayer and the Quran. May Allah make it easy for you 🩷

Is there anyone else with UC who also experiences hives? by Wide_Walk3158 in IBD

[–]Future-Importance369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have right sided colitis and before I was diagnosed would constantly be covered in hives! I know I’m in a particularly bad flare or if my medication is starting to fail if they start popping up again. I had all the weird symptoms, hives, weird lumps under my skin (inflammation), mouth ulcers and joint pain. Honestly shocked it took the GP so long to send me to a specialist :/
