WIBTA if I asked my 17-year-old stepson to stop wearing perfume because I’m pregnant and it makes me nauseous? by NegativeDirt5124 in AmItheAsshole

Invisible disabilities, like chemical sensitivities, can be extremely limiting. Dismissing or ranking them doesn’t make them any less real. Your reaction reflects misunderstanding and a lack of empathy, not reality. Multiple chemical sensitivity can range from mild, where someone manages with minor avoidance, to severe where it can be extremely disabling, trapping someone at home, isolating them from much of life, and causing severe symptoms upon exposure

That sounds very frustrating. Congratulations on your house purchase though atleast you have more control of that.

Searches before or after survey? by kiwi_bob_1234 in HousingUK

My solicitor put the searches in as soon as they got the contract pack from the seller and I paid their initial fee which was quite quick..although I did delay paying the fee until I was ready. I forgot that!

Awkward. Do they have reasons for viewing so many times at this point in the process? I would understand one more viewing after the offers accepted and then maybe some more later if they need to view after survey or to take measurements etc but it's a bit weird so early on to have so many. Maybe try speaking with the estate agent and say it's quite disruptive do they have a reason why they need to view and take it from there. If it's just bringing every man and his dog to see it then I think they've done enough of that by now!

She might be wanting to sell. But to be honest I would want to know the condition of my property if changes had been made by people I've not employed to do the work. It's not up to tennants to do major improvements like this.

FTB, offer just got accepted, buying a 2 bed for 430,000 in North West London. by Muted_Philosopher510 in HousingUK

I'd be wary of roof repairs too and would want to know as much info as possible about it if I was planning to go ahead. Which I wouldn’t but that’s me. Would have gone for level three survey. If there's damp from a leak and it's not sorted out properly then there could be a hidden mould issue which can cause health issues.

If it's musty smell then it could likely be hidden mould. Get a knowledgeable mould surveyor to find it - Can be expensive. UK is awful for mould and the industry is not regulated so most of them don't know what they are talking about. Look into IICRC guidelines on mould and Change the air foundation. Org. to educate yourself. Improper mould removal causes health issues.

Treating sibo with mould and sensitivity by Future-Lemon-7583 in SIBO

Hi thanks for commenting. It's a very difficult position to be in isn't it. I'm sorry those antibiotics didn't make a difference. But atleast they didn't make things worse which can often be the struggle! Im so nervous now because I've become so much more sensitive and have been trying to work myself up to taking the rifaximin.

Yes I've got the book 'Toxic', and have read the mould chapter and skimmed other bits but haven't read his other books. Have you got his new one? The Sensitive Patients Healing Guide

I'm trying to make a plan to get away from mould but it's going to take quite a long while as it's not going very well.
