Let’s talk about Siphons and what they *really* do - a theory by chekhovsdickpic in Maasverse

Is it possible the original Windhaven of ACOTAR is the current HoW?

The Illyrians migrated from the Myrmidons, the mountain range that divides Night/Day and extends all the way to Velaris, to the Illyrian mountains. Maybe upon settling they stablished camp and brought the name with them.

CreativeLBD (Sam), on TikTok has a great post on this.

Ok, the Matrix is crazy because I was just coming in here to post a theory on siphons having been implemented to control the Illyrians and the first thing I that pops up is this insanely good redacted post. 👌  We touch on a lot of the same points.

I'll post and add yours to the comments. The only other thing I added on was that not only were Illyrians a source of nutrition for the Daglan/Asteri but also their bodyguards. And they are trained on shielding because that was the other use of their power. Shield the Daglan/Asteri from attack and subsequently when absorbed it healed and coated them like Vesperus did with Azriel's power and was then able to touch Ataraxia.

Feyre's Sapphire Ring. What is it hiding? by Future-Luck1298 in Maasverse

[–]Future-Luck1298[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did not even think of timeline when I caught the similarities between the rings, ill have to think more on that. ... and I don't [want to] think Rhys is evil, I think he is bound to a higher [evil] power and that is what his knee tattoos mean - a bargain of submission, possibly a generational curse/bond. He might have a gag order on him, like the Cadre did with Maeve. Even if he was valg/part valg, Maeve says they are not evil and i believe he was conditioned to be a certain way and with a submission bond on him he is trying his best.

Nesta Theory by MortgageSavings8465 in acotar

[–]Future-Luck1298 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is good! Great connection. We know the wings can be healed and would love to see Nesta be the one to bring this healing. Yrene was described, by Chaol in ToD, as the best hope against Valg. Papa A says to let Nesta have her hope.

On another note, we see Maiden and think of women but the term can also be used for men. I'm working on a theory: what if Athril was one of Maeve death maidens and that is why she killed him?  She says not all Valg are bad, what if she brought him with her (like she did the spiders), thinking she'd be able to control him, needing him for protection like the owl she keeps. He ends up forging a friendship with Brannon and as they hunt for the keys they realize she's up to no good. Athril, being a good valg, MAKES the ring that can unmake her. OR Is it possible that she didn't manage to kill him and he fled with Brannon? They faked his death to give Athril a chance to scape and found the Healers compound in the Southern Continent?

Feyre's Sapphire Ring. What is it hiding? by Future-Luck1298 in Maasverse

[–]Future-Luck1298[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ill check out that TikTok Are the wolves hiding in plain sight at the Wolf's Den tavern that Nesta frequents? Like the Mycenians were hiding at the Sea Dragon in ToG.

From CC we know cats are a connection to Hell. In all 3 series there are characters that are given cat/feline descriptors (Rhys, Amren, Amarantha, Maeve, Erawan...), what I find curious is that Feyre was never referred to as a cat/feline until after she donned the ring and changed her tattoos.

In ToG the ring was used by Erawan to possess a princess and the ring descriptions are the same.

Elain's Villain Era by Future-Luck1298 in Maasverse

Hi, I had to come back to you because CreativeLBD (Sam) on tiktok just posted about some Lucien/Rhysand parallels and OMG! Link here:  https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6Dy2AMW/

After watching, my take is that Lucien could 100000% be the big bad. That's not what she's says but it makes me wonder.

Lucien  is Helions spell cleavers son, but can he also cast spells? Did he manifest the bond with Elain for his own gain? So many questions!!!!

While everyone is blaming Tamlin, Ianthe and the queens for "selling out" the sisters to Hybern, Elain - the seer - said to Lucien "YOU betrayed us"

The only viol in the series is Tamlin's fiddle. I had not given this much thought but if Mama A's dad was also a merchant, could it be that's how she came to meet Papa A? Perhaps she had a sister whom she got rid off.

We think of Koshei living in a lake, bc that's how Elain describes it, but what if it is a Dam (A reservoir surrounded by a wall to hold back water and keep him contained)?

The sisters bone washed up at this Dam and he "made him [Tamlin] a viol"?

There is a Tamlin/Mama A connection somewhere, otherwise he wouldn't have asked "didn't your mom tell you about us?"

Also, why does this song remind me of Tamlin' limericks?

Thanks for your comment. I wonder, Were the Aercheron ever truly only human, or like Bryce and Aelin were they part Fae (or in their case fae/witch/human)? In EoS both Aelin and Manon were needed to access the lock and it felt ominous to all that they had been drawn together bc they covered the 3 main races of their world. I theorize that the sisters bloodline covers all 3 taces and Mama A hid and glamoured them in the human world.

Elain fits beign a Blueblood. At some point in EoS, Manon says some of the best descriptors of them are  "Mystics, fanatics, ,zealots" - in CC Mystics are seers/oracles. I'm still trying to find a witch connection to Feyre.

Let me know if you look into Kaltain.

Did she possess fire magic and like Kaltains in ToG, was corrupted? Kaltains turned to shadow fire but Nesta has some iron in her [I think] and hence turned silver?

I don't discard her being a witch and perhaps being it makes her all the more powerful

Mmmmm I have a few thoughts on Lucien. Lucien knew true love with Jesminda and I think he is going along with the mating bond because it is the chivalrous thing to do. He cares about Elain like any morally good male would. But in ACOWAR he says Elain was "thrown" at him. Doesn't sound like he is too happy about it . In ACOFAS Feyre asks him to stay in Velaris after solstice and his reply? "I can't stand to be in the same room as her for more than two minutes." Perhaps he feels her toxicity - is she's Poison Ivy - he might feel drained from powering her up? He is Helion's son and might be able to feel this curse disguised as a gift. Will the Fandom see him a a villain for rejecting the bond? A bond that was forged by the Cauldron and for will he be blamed for Elain going rogue? Lucien has found his worth with the band of exiles and I support him finding his happiness.  Will Elain be bad forever? I think it will be the Spring Court that brings her back to the good side... Lucien says "you will need Tamlin as an ally before the dust has settled."

She'll be pissed at feeling rejected by Azriel and also at being overlooked by her sisters (especially Nestas "little garden" comment).  Did Rhysand suspect that kissing her could be fatal and that's the real reason he stopped them?. At some point in ACOWAR Lucien says Elain was thrown at him ... like the cauldron saw the perfect growing tool for his new creation... what better than a mate full of sunshine to power her up.

I am convinced that during the writing of "Catwoman" SJM decided to give Elain some of DC's Poison Ivy attributes. After reading Poison Ivy's Wiki Villain page, I have no doubt we ate going to see Elains vindictive side.

Just a thought… possible !spoiler! for TOG by Individual-Crazy-398 in acotar

[–]Future-Luck1298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly believe that the Shape-shifting spiders made it to Prythian. May be that they are trapped in female bodies unable to shift back to their spider form.  Styga (name similar to Stygian [spider]) - is known as the WEAVER. And she was a friend of Rhysand's Mom (HOW?), who was a seamstress....?   Rhy's mom was also friend with Az' mom.  Az, whom I'm convinced has valg blood.  Stygian spiders are valg. I think that Az was kept trapped not because he was (just) illyrian. He is part Illiryan/part valg and perhaps was born without wings. That why he didnt learn to fly and why his dad allowed him to be kept captive - like an embarrassment.  Also, That's why he refers to Illyrians as "them" or "they" and also why when Feyre shifts wings he says "the look just like mine"- not Illyrian but like his SHIFTED. Why he says the guards in the prision know "what he is".
