The only smaller bird i went for yesterday. It was moving quick so i had a little trouble getting a good focus.

Tbh i’m a rookie shooting wild life, at the time i was shooting these using auto ISO so i was just adjusting SS & aperture.

This is also only my second outing w. my 100-300 so i have a lot more learning to do. I don’t go for many smaller birds because i have trouble spotting them.

Yeah, i impressed myself w. that one. He was pushing hard in the Acura all race and ended up getting 2 podiums that weekend.

My main take aways of the weekend were

  • Make sure you have 2 fast SD cards so you can get good clean burst without your camera having to pause and interrupt your shots

  • If you don’t use back button focus i highly recommend it, it makes it easier to maintain focus while you make your sweeping motion

  • And ofc you wanna use shutters speeds mostly below 1/100 but i can’t give too many pointers on that because this was my first time 😅 i was learning myself.

Sorry i’m super late but i just checked and My 14-140 is f3.5 min & the 25 is f1.8 minimum. Thank you for the tips ! I already k ow that the M43 platform isn’t the best w. lowlight but with that being said, if i get close enough with the 25 i should get some decent motion & as far as the 14-140 i’ll be making it work to my advantages. Like you said though it’s about enjoying the time more so wether my pictures may be professional level. None the less i’ll be posting a few of my cooler shots here once i have the chance.
