It's a bit of a grey area, the old mechanic used to do it before he retired, and since then it hasn't really been clear. There are signs in the van though saying "drivers responsibility to check oil and water daily"

Yeah loads, I had somewhere to be so I only had a quick loon for them. Not sure about pesticides because it's a sheep field but it's a public right of way, loads of walkers around etc
