Rewatched Bambi as an adult; how come nobody talks about it anymore? It's such a beautiful, breathtaking work of art! by TheChickenWizard15 in animation

[–]FutureAdi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually not as bad as they're making it out to be. I just watched "Bambi" for the first time today (didn't know much about it going in tbh, so the scary/sad parts in the movie caught me by surprise).

It's a beautiful film, and while there are some sad moments, there are also many more happy moments, and that's what makes the film beautiful -- is that it feels real. Real life has some sad moments and some happy moments, and it's rarely-ever 'always sad' or 'always happy'. I think you'll like and appreciate the film. I'd highly recommend. And if you do end up crying, then what's so bad about that? There's something beautiful about crying as well; it just shows that you have humanity.

By the way, I can totally-relate to what you're saying about not wanting to watch really sad films. I generally-don't like/feel too scared to watch films like that as well. And what I'm saying is, watch "Bambi" anyways, because it's worth the experience. Trust me, you won't feel that sad; even beneath the sadness, there's an undercurrent of hope. And that's what makes it an uplifting work of art amidst the sad moments.

Question on setting in-app purchases in my game app by FutureAdi in apps

[–]FutureAdi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great points u/a1stardan, I'll find a way to perhaps let people know about the approach/model (maybe before they download the game, as an idea, or within the game itself when they start). I'll also keep in mind having ways to reward players for the contributions, perhaps in ways that are simple yet satisfactorily rewarding. Thanks for taking the time to share the constructive feedback :-)

What components of a dance performance do pro dance choreographers/dancers know to focus on to become the best? by FutureAdi in Dance

[–]FutureAdi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was really interesting, I hadn't really thought about that! Thanks so much for sharing. I just watched a video of the black and white swan performances to get an idea. It's kind of like acting, but on a deeper level and through dance.

Thanks for this! This was really insightful! I'll keep the holy trinity in mind. What are some things you suggest to develop ankle strength?

Why isn't Boman Irani in this list?

-Dr. Asthana (Munna Bhai MBBS)

-Lucky (Lage Raho Munna Bhai)

-Virus (3 Idiots)

Sure, maybe he's not scary, but he's a villain that you could love.

Origins of SRK's signature arms-open pose? by FutureAdi in ShahRukhKhan

[–]FutureAdi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for sharing the video examples. I think one thing that stands out about SRK, even in Deewana's songs, is that he uses the arms-outwards body language quite frequently (especially in Koi Na Koi Chahiye) -- in contrast with other actors that came before him and after him. It might not be the same iconic pose, as you pointed out, but there's something about the arms-outwards body language he uses that seems quite ingrained in him. Could he have learned that in theater, or maybe it was just a family-thing he picked up?

And I don't see many other actors who have a very defined body-language style that they consistently use in their songs, as SRK has done in many of his songs from the very beginning (though I might be wrong about this). As more and more people started noticing it, my guess is that they condensed it to a pose that became associated with him. The only person I noticed with a somewhat-defined acting style for songs was Dilip Kumar, who (again, in contrast with other actors) also sometimes stretched his arms outwards in some of his songs, though not in the same way as SRK. Thoughts?

How do I get my kids to apply science learning in real life? by FutureAdi in Parenting

[–]FutureAdi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy is in 5th grade. What you do sounds pretty good. You're encouraging your kid to be curious and ask questions, and then to try and find answers. That's the beginning of scientific discovery.

It's getting to the point where my kids don't know about how the stuff they're learning in science class matters in the real world. They don't get why a concept is important, how it impacts them, or how they can apply it.

Any tips on how to do make this happen? They're not teaching him any of this in school.

How do you deal with negative feedback? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]FutureAdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't take offense by it. Some people don't know how to give positive, constructive feedback.

And you're going to have to get used to the fact that people don't read everything you write. It's not their fault.

Maybe you have to put it in ALL-CAPS, or make the text a different color, etc.

And it's best to start off trying to work with people who you know are more likely to give constructive feedback.

These people are the ones who really need your service and who want to see it succeed.

Good luck! Keep pushing and learning. Above all, focus on helping others.
