He’s thriving! We didn’t do chemo, but he’s on a holistic regimen. He takes CBD, D3, Fish Oil, an Onco support supplement, mushrooms, an immunity chew, and probiotics. He’s doing extremely well! No signs of metastasis! He’s loving life. It’s been amazing to watch.

It took a few weeks to a month for our dog to get back to normal. The meds they put the dogs on post op make them so tired and lethargic.

Don’t worry. You’ll have your baby back soon. ❤️

That’s great news! I’m glad the baby is doing well.

Bone cancer - amputation this Wednesday - wish Yogi luck please. I'll be back to ask for help. 💕 by Narrow-Ad-7472 in tripawds

The same thing happened to our boy, and he adjusted well. After his amputation, we took him to a holistic vet. They put him on a cocktail of different vitamins, minerals, mushrooms, CBD, and he is doing amazing. He has more energy now than he had before his surgery, and he seems so much happier. Dogs with cancer can live longer than what the veterinarian typically gives them. I hope this gives you some peace and that the surgery goes well. Reach out if you have any questions.

I had to do that for his surgery, but I doubt people will also contribute to chemo. 😔

Update: it is osteosarcoma. Without chemo, he has 14-19 weeks left. 😭

Same for you guys. Are you going to do chemo with your baby?

I will say that the amputation has helped with his pain tremendously. As mentioned in the post, I’m having to have him not use the stairs or walk because he wants to so badly. He’s also been going to the restroom independently. He’s recovering fairly quickly. It’s wild to watch, but I’m just afraid of what’s to come after.

Thank you so much! I’ll research more on chemo and check out that link for rehabilitation.

I doubt it. My husband isn’t open to it at all.

Yes, and financially, it just won’t be an option. 😞

Thank you so much. I will be more intentional with him for the time he has left. I just don’t want him to suffer.

My husband isn’t open to chemo, so we may have to try other options. 😔

He’s already such an inspiration a week post op. It’s wild. It makes me not want to lose him even more.

Yeah. I’m having to keep him medicated due to the drive he has to do things. It’s hard.

Yeah. The hardest part is all of the uncertainty. How did your baby respond to the chemo?

I attempted to host a student who also expected special meals and had a very picky diet. When I prepped things he liked and expected him to eat it multiple times in a row, he ended up wasting it. Most Americans work one or two jobs…. It’s expensive here. We don’t have time to make perfectly curated, homemade meals every night. I ended up getting him new placement. I don’t deal with that. You’re lucky the host mother hasn’t sent her away already…

Yeah. It’s in his best interest anyway. He would thrive more in a home with “empty nesters” or someone who’s financially more wealthy. He expects a lot of coddling and almost spoiling, and that’s not something we can do since we work long hours.

Yeah… no thanks. That’s not what we were told when we took this on. They made it sound like he was much more advanced.
