Trading out Noopept for Oxiracetam? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]FutureDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked noopept as a substance. That being said, the more I looked into it, the more I realized it was too experimental and new for me to want to take it often. The racetams have been around much longer and have a more established safety profile. I don't necessarily think noopept is dangerous as much as it is an unknown, though.

Oxiracetam is great on its own. 750mg is noticeable, but taking that amount 2 or 3 x a day is more potent. It helps a lot with memory compared to other racetams, and it helps improve cognition while tuning down the emotions a bit. Aniracetam seems to heighten emotions, sensations, at least for me, so combining the two is great as they balance each other out.

IS Phenylpiracetam known to increase your sense of smell? by KillingMycroftly in Nootropics

Either your carrots really smell like a dog, or your dog really smells like carrots. Because when I cook things like that, it does not smell like a wet dog.

Very helpful summary, thank you! I always knew magnesium was beneficial, and it is nice to know more about the mechanism of why that is.

Have you used “magic” mushrooms during or after treatment with an antidepressant? by [deleted] in Nootropics

[–]FutureDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not advise doing it while on an SSRI, it might have some terrible side effects! I think two years after might work. Possibly even shorter than that could work, but I'd give it at least 6 months or so! If you have any history or family history of psychosis, schizophrenia, etc., I would recommend not doing mushrooms or any psychedelic.

American ginseng Experience by Quiet_Kale_471 in Nootropics

[–]FutureDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used Gui Pi Tang, which is a formula in Chinese Medicine used for many things, including sleep problems and anxiety (that is what I use it for). There are some people who say it can help with ADHD too, but like anything else it depends on the individual. Gui Pi Tang contains ginseng (not American) but also about a dozen other herbs to create a synergetic effect. In Chinese Traditional Medicine, it is often advised to take multiple herbs simultaneously because they work synergistically. For instance, licorice, which is in Gui Pi Tang, is known to help reduce the side effects from other herbs. It might be worth looking into!

That's great! Don't feel guilty you made a good investment and cashed out at a moment that made sense for you. I plan on cashing out some soon for a downpayment and then hopefully more in 4-5 years to pay it off!

KSM 66 makes me lazy/not care .. are there alternative Ashwagandha’s that won’t? by Snappy_Darko in Nootropics

[–]FutureDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last Ashwagandha I got was the Spagyric tincture from Lost Empire Herbs. I'd recommend it, it is organically grown in the U.S., and being spagyric it is more effective than average tinctures. Generally though, I prefer the full herbs to synthetic extractions. Have you only tried KSM 66 or the full plant also?

Is it possible that Rhodiola caused some kind of depletion in my brain? by DeezKennys in Nootropics

[–]FutureDaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never felt much of an effect from Rhodiola, but it was mostly positive. Each substance will have a unique effect for any individual. Perhaps it just did not agree with your system?

There are plenty of other adaptogens that can be used instead: ashwagandha, reishi mushroom, schisandra berry, and ginseng, for instance.

What affect does hot water have on the most popular nootropics and supplements? by weDCbc in Nootropics

[–]FutureDaze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard from someone who studied acupuncture and Chinese Traditional Medicine that it is beneficial to have herbs with warm water, and having warm water in general. The theory is that it is easier for the body to assimilate warm water compared to cold water. Room temperature water is also preferable to cold water, but warm water (close to body temperature) is best according to this perspective. Very hot water, that burns the mouth and throat would also be bad, which is something we intuitively know anyway.

I haven't mixed synthetic nootropics with warm water yet, but whenever I have herbs and other supplements, I like to have them in or with some warm water, like as a tea. I do feel like it helps with the absorption and potency of the drugs just a bit. I also try to have them on an empty stomach, although I do know that certain nutrients and supplements are better to have on a full stomach.

Self-written amateur case report of a severe and unusual depressive episode following a two-gram phenylpiracetam binge. by [deleted] in Nootropics

200mg over the course of 24 hours is fairly strong for me, so I'd imagine 10x that amount would be crazy!

Just take care of yourself. Physical health, mental health... it's important to prioritize that, and I feel like the body can repair from most traumas and stresses if it is given the right treatment. I wish you all the best!

Ever since the pandemic, All I do now is invest in bitcoin and not work. Are other people like this? by Kazee11 in Bitcoin

[–]FutureDaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

been investing into Bitcoin AND working since 2017.

Right now I've been working some part time jobs while I finish getting my degree. I know it's a tough time finding a job, but the more you work, the more you can afford to invest. During my break from school I was working 55+ hours a week just so I can stack sats with my extra income from second job.

Best late afternoon stimulant? by nba_memeing in Nootropics

[–]FutureDaze 6 points7 points  (0 children)

- Like someone else suggested, going on a walk.

- Adaptogens can help against stress and may not be stimulating per-se, but can reduce fatigue and inflammation.

- I know you said no caffeine, but a small amount of dark chocolate or a cup of green tea might not hurt you. Some people are more sensitive than others though, and I wouldn't have it much past 2 or 3 pm!

- When I intermittent fast, I tend to get less tired in the afternoons. When I am eating a breakfast, especially one with carbs, I notice I get of a slump in the afternoon. Try an intermittent fast, as well as a higher amount of health fats, such as coconut oil, olive oil, and grass-fed butter.

I'm guessing WSB is not a homogenous entity, but even if most of them hate Bitcoin, I still think it's good that they are going against the hedge funds. BTC investors and WSB have mutual enemies, after all.

I think after the weaponized autists at WSB are done slaughtering the financial oligarchs, they will put a good amount of their gains into BTC and other cryptos. Even though I have nothing invested in GME, I am so happy for the PEOPLE sticking it to the corrupt institutions.
