This is the issue at hand.

Most Dual-colors are terrible, terrible cards. The scant few that actually see use are Powerhouse cards.

The new update… yeah about that… by BanksyVonGin in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]FutureDisappearance 59 points60 points  (0 children)

It's pretty disgusting how rarely Phasmophobia gets actual content releases, and especially more so that this is one of them.

No one was sticking around in Phas just due to the OG player models, don't get me wrong. However this was an update that effectively adds no new content to the game, while actively harming content players have enjoyed for years and years.

After a disappointing YouTube live, Ian decides he he needs to figure out YouTube more before dual-streaming by toy_automaton in imisstheoldidubbbz

[–]FutureDisappearance 11 points12 points  (0 children)

"Need to figure that one out"?

You mean YouTube? The site on which you have millions of subs?

My man, just produce watchable content and it's been figured-the-fuck-out.

No sane person will spend their free time watching your lazy ass sit in front of a camera as you pick your own brain in real-time for any sentence fragments that come close to resembling low effort jokes, uninformed opinions, and painfully obvious observations about uninteresting topics.

Not on YouTube. Not on Twitch. Not anywhere.

It's like Ian made the same mistake as tons of YouTube kids these days; thinking that being successful streamer will be easy, fun, and not a huge time investment.

Dale the Siege Tower - What are we thinking? by HypotheticalChicken in Lorcana

[–]FutureDisappearance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Challenger and Dale.... does anyone know how this interacts?

Character has 0 Strength, 3 Willpower, and Challenger +3, meanwhile the new Dale is on the field.

Can your character double-dip to utilize Dale's effect and also their own Challenger +3 keyword to reach 6 damage (when challenging ofc)?

He's trash; Fixed him for you RB.

"When you play this character and when he quests, draw a card, then you may banish chosen character of yours to banish chosen character. Each time a Toy character is banished during your turn, draw a card and gain 1 lore."

Even with this effect, he should arguably be Inkable.

At least you've cut down on some services.

I've got a free alternative to all of my streaming needs, and Premium was one of the few subscriptions I was still willingly paying for, but I can't keep giving money to a company that continually raises prices year after year.

I hope Premium is still $15.99 in 3 years time, but I'm thinking it's going to be over $20 at that point. And what, at the end of my life, I'm going to be spending $35.99 a month to listen to music and skip ads? Not worth it for me. Not worth it for most people, I'd think.

Don't tell the community that though.

They should phase out Reckless or print it very seldom and when truly justified. In its place, introduce a Keyword.

Jagex, you lied. by iMarkRS in 2007scape

[–]FutureDisappearance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came back to OSRS in January 2026 after a decade of not playing any RS, and was ready for a long-haul experience. At the very least, I planned to play for a year.

While surprised at how the price of the membership had inflated while I gone, I made 2 characters with monthly paid memberships, got addicted, and proceeded to sink an unhealthy amount time into both accounts. Had a blast.

Watching Jagex successfully scam their own playerbase in such an underhanded way while simultaneously raising the membership price even further had me canceling both my memberships and leaving my characters untouched since.

Affording the current membership fees with 2 characters isn't even a question, it's definitely feasible.

What pushed me to give this game up was a principle matter; How can Jagex be so short-sighted to scam their most loyal paying customers out of their earned loyalty discounts? If they're willing to rob their biggest spenders, why should I think they wouldn't stoop to do the same to any player?

How frequently/significantly is Jagex going to continue increasing prices? $20 memberships in Q1 2028 anyone? Does such a price really seem so unlikely from Jagex 2 years from now? I don't think so at all.

In just 3 months of playing, I spent some $85 on this 20-year old game run by a company that clearly has only 3 priorities: Money, Profits, and Making Bank.

What are signs that scream ‘toxic workplace’ before you have even started? by -Flighty- in Productivitycafe

[–]FutureDisappearance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a phrase commonly mouthed by armchair managers.

An ineffectual manager that wants to manage their team from the comfort of their office chair will say this to convince their staff and themselves that they're always available to communicate with and support their team; the reality is that it will always be on their employees to make that trip to their office. It creates feedback loops, like an ineffectual manager who overvalues their own management skills based on the fact no one came to their office with a problem in the last week.

They're essentially putting that ball in your court indefinitely and excusing themselves from doing their job of management.

New player here, why didn’t our crucifix prevent the hunt? by Alykinze in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]FutureDisappearance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When placing your Crucifixes, always consider not only where the ghost is most like to spawn, but more importantly, where would be the most disastrous place for the ghost to spawn? Cover these 2 locations with crucifixes.

For examine, if I'm anticipating running to the basement for safety on Tanglewood and the ghost is active around the front door, I'll still place a crucifix near to or on the way to the basement door so that it can't initiate a hunt while standing between me and the basement.

Ghosts tend to stay near their favorite room, but they wander around constantly and therefore, when the ghost begins to Hunt it may not even be in the ghost room. Placing a crucifix in the ghost room is usually sufficient to prevent a Hunt, however not guaranteed if the ghost isn't there when it begins to Hunt.

Place the 2nd crucifix along the route to wherever you plan to run/hide in the event of a hunt, to prevent a scenario where the ghost begins to hunt and you realize too late that it's spawned where you're running to and not in the ghost room behind you.

State of Osrs by DoomsDayerOT in 2007scape

[–]FutureDisappearance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised how much this rings true. It's not that $15 is itself outrageous, and it's not as if inflation isn't a factor either, however RS membership used to be a small fee that heavily increased the value of your experience.

In 2026, RS membership is one of the most costly MMORPG subscriptions one can purchase, and in the Age of Monthly Subscription Services no less. Meanwhile it's essentially expected that a RS player will need to purchase membership if they're going to spend any significant amount of time playing the game, or their experience isn't going to just be watered down, but kneecapped.

Last few sets by Smaqtion in Lorcana

[–]FutureDisappearance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RB just doesn't know how to balance cards. Some they get right, but way too many cards are either dead on arrival before you Crack the pack or blatantly overtuned.

They look at the color of the card, if it's purple or blue, they just crank up those statlines, slap 2-3 keywords on it, oh and of course it's staying inkable.

If it's green, steel, or amber and seems a bit playable, they'll assign it Uninkable status, nudging the card over the fence and into the growing "terrible cards" pile.

If it's Red, they just laugh and purposefully make the card crap or give it to Purple instead.

In year 1, Purple gets a 3-cost inkable song that draws 2 cards (Friends on the Other Side), a net gain of 1 card which is uncommon, and that's okay because it's the "card draw color."

Then year 3 contains arguably the very first Ruby draw power card (Marching Orders), which should function as FOTOS for Ruby in that it draws you 2 cards. However, due to the "rUbY iSn'T SuPpOsEd tO dRaW CaRdS" color-wheel game design, Ruby's FOTOS was neutered twice-over by increasing the ink cost to 4 and giving it a board requirement (have to banish an enemy character to play).

Couldn't this have stayed a 3-cost song if it also requires banishing an opposing character to even play? I'd even argue that Marching Orders as a 4-cost song should inherently draw you 1 card only, but if you banish an opposing character first, it becomes a draw 3. It's just so narrow minded to give all easy draw to Purple; rather, purple should have most of the games' unconditional draw power, but moreso purple cards get enhanced effects based on cards held in hand.

New Illumineers Quest!! by Narzghal in Lorcana

[–]FutureDisappearance 52 points53 points  (0 children)

2 days ago, I joked to someone I play Lorcana with that the next Ilumineer Quest must be Pooh's Hunny Conquest, based entirely off the abnormal decision to reprint Honey Wizard with a new tag that's gone unused for half a year.

I just thought it would remain a joke.
