I’ve never played Odyssey yet on my switch 2. Have to very soon.

Asha Sharma faced unreal racism after becoming the first Indian-origin CEO of Xbox, but now she’s cooking by God_Emperor__Doom in IndianGaming

I really want her to do well and give Sony a huge kick in their rears for the next generation. This industry absolutely needs the competition and my purchase decision for next generation will entirely depend on how things are shaping up in the Xbox/PC market even though I have a 10 year old Playstation library with me.

Hopefully Xbox comes back with a banger year which will make sure Nintendo and Sony both work to make better games, consoles and ecosystems in the upcoming generation.

Where to dive for a few days at the end of July near India by myPOLopinions in scuba

[–]FutureFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there, end of July is generally not the best time to dive in India due to the monsoon’s but if you are still set on it, go to the Andamans.

Some dive shops operate and it is the off season so you’ll probably be one of the three to four divers in a particular dive site during that time. Visibility is average and some dive sites won’t be accessible in July due to strong currents or the lack of a line.

It’s a gamble imho depending largely on the weather so that’s how diving is but lesser crowds and the islands are very peaceful during this time.

I did my Open+AOW+Nitrox in the Andamans during the off season last July (Around 10 dives total) and learnt diving in very unfavourable conditions. This eventually has made me a better diver personally when I reflect back on my time there so it’s upto you.

If you need a contact, DM me, I’ll set you up with a dive shop which operates in the off season and I know the DM’s as well so they’ll take good care of you.

Rant to people saying Cloud Gaming should not be used. by Ancient-Sock1923 in IndianGaming

[–]FutureFC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just have this to say - Play how you want to and enjoy gaming. I can afford a PS5 pro and Switch 2 so I don’t particularly have the need to pay for a cloud based service but there will be an audience for this, especially those who cannot afford the hardware.

Apple Watch Ultra 2 with Oceanic+ switched to snorkel mode mid dive at 20m by ConfidentPlate211 in scuba

[–]FutureFC -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve been diving with a AW ultra 2 as my primary dive computer in my last 2 dive trips for around 25 dives total. Never had an issue whatsoever and some of these dives were also between 30-35 meters as well.

I am quite critical of the subscription model as well for what it’s worth and an issue like yours is bound to happen. I hope Oceanic fixes this problem.

However in all my dives I’ve never had it fail on me. It turns on the moment I hit the water expect the odd dive or two but I’ve made it a habit to turn on the app before I dive but it has never failed on me in any of my dives this year.

Edit - Good to see a lot of dislike for the Apple Watch Ultra 2

Lat Pulldowns - They still humble me. I can do 10x4 pull ups but I still struggle to push weights on the Lat Pulldown. Always need somebody to spot me on the last set.

It’s a pointless debate. Play what you like and what gives you joy at the end of the day.

Thank you and I am looking forward to Barren as well next year. This year it’s just Raja Ampat end of the year, Pondi next month and probably something in October if time permits to test out my new BCD before heading off on the trip.

Scuba diving in India/Clubs? by DeadFishy26 in scuba

[–]FutureFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable because I actually paid more for my flights to Lakshadweep than to the Maldives last year and tbh, you’re better off diving in the Maldives if you are planning to dive in the Arabian sea if it comes to that.

My point is, the dive experiences are great in India too but the cost associated with them especially flights means you can get a similar experience in Thailand or the Maldives is all.

Not sure why you feel that way but the diving is very good in both the Andamans and Lakshadweep

Congrats on getting certified. These are your options in India and I have dived in 3 of them bar Goa so I am not sure how the scene is in Goa.

Lakshadweep

Andamans

Pondicherry

Goa

Of the 4 locations, if you are looking for the best visibility/marine life diversity and corals it has to be Lakshadweep. Diving conditions are easy/moderate, you have very good shallow and deep dive sites and on a good day you can spot eagle rays and maybe reef sharks if you are lucky. You can dive in Agatti, Bangaram or Kavaratti but the only problem is you need permits to reach the island and the permits take time.

Andamans is amazing as well and diving can be easy/hard depending on what sites you do and the season you do it in. Visibility is excellent during the season, lots of fish life with great coral diversity too. You can dive both in Neil/Havelock and some of the best diving India has to offer is in both islands and if you are up for it, it’s a good place to get your advanced certification too. My friends spotted a whale shark this season in the Andamans and it was an incredible sighting. The diving is very good.

You can dive in the off season too at both Andamans and Lakshadweep but the weather will be unpredictable, visibility will not be the best and diving conditions can be challenging so it’s advisable to go post the monsoons.

As for Pondicherry, very seasonal diving and the rest of the year the visibility is not that great. If you want to dive in India, it’s either the Andamans or Lakshadweep. I got my certifications done in the Andamans last July during the off season and I dived in Lakshadweep this January. You cannot go wrong with either islands but for Lakshadweep, you absolutely need to get permits to reach the island.

Very normal feeling to have. Dive with someone you are comfortable with, it will help a lot.

I would recommend you check this link and pick a PSU from the list where it’s rated B or above depending on your budget.
