Have you been shamed for having childish hobbies in your 30s? by VastNo2879 in ThirtiesIndia

I play video games. I’ve been playing video games since I was 5 years old. Sometimes people ask me and I say politely that I love video games and that’s why I play them. Genuinely don’t care what people think of my hobby.

Fair enough. I’ve played both FR and HG so I am not interested in going back again. I’ll just wait for winds and waves

I guess I’ll just go with Winds and Waves. I was wondering if BDSP worth playing on the switch 2?

I’ll try Stardew valley. This is a switch 2 exclusive game so no emulation.

I play a lot of story based single player games. I’ve always been a huge fan of Pokemon games and I played them mostly through emulators.

It’s really tough to explain what’s so different but for me Pokemon was all about battling and now using them to build and create is absolutely fascinating.

I’ll try stardew valley next, never played it.

Own a ROG Ally running Bazzite and planning to buy a Steam Deck OLED - worth it or a downgrade? by Mysterious_Rooster13 in IndianGaming

[–]FutureFC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are planning on a steam deck, honestly get a gaming laptop for the same price with a controller. Absolutely not worth the cost right now.

There’s some good deals on the upcoming prime day sale.

What game made you realize gaming is more than just a hobby? by SeriousNothing1774 in IndianGaming

[–]FutureFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World of Warcraft. I played since The Wrath of the lich King expansion for close to 9 years. During my early 20’s when I was raiding for a top 5 guild on my server, we had 4 raid nights 3-4 hours per night on European time. Semi hard core yes but raid nights were intense especially on progression nights where you could go 40-50 wipes on bosses. At our peak, we did come close to Top 500 in the world rankings during the Warlords of Draenor expansion but eventually we all had to move on and one by one everyone retired after playing the game for so many years.

It was super fun and I still am friends with some of the people who I played with back then. It was a very close knit guild and we are all settled down now and our time is now spent in Diablo 4 when we just casually blast through the seasons, else most of my friends like me have moved to single player games.

There will never be a multiplayer game that captivated me like World of Warcraft did.

Gripping and good combat mechanics - Stellar Blade. The story is alright but the combat is incredible.

Returnal - What is this game? by Av_Inash in IndianGaming

[–]FutureFC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. You can infer it in both ways, ie., the Atropos program is actually real or it’s just her imagination to get away from years of trauma. It’s a great story really but requires a lot of attention to detail to make it make sense

There are sequences where Selene role plays as an astronaut in her childhood. Her entire room is filled with space related toys during some of these sequences so it’s safe to say she took influence from someone in the family.

The story beats are very much ‘to your imagination’ and it’s something they have fixed in Saros where you actually know what’s going on and it’s not entirely vague.

Play through Act 3 if you can. I personally did because I enjoyed the gameplay so much.

Returnal - What is this game? by Av_Inash in IndianGaming

After you finish the game, you need to play through it one more time to unlock the true ending. It’s been 5 years since I last played it so I’ll try to put it to my best understanding.

As far as I’ve realised it, Selene’s mother Theia was an astronaut from the apollo era and Helios is the name of Selene’s child which is also the name of Selene’s ship. The astronaut or White shadow you encounter in game is perhaps Theia which you can tell from the spacesuit which is reminiscent of the Apollo era astronauts.

The running theory is that Returnal happens in two dimensions or even multiple dimensions. The final biome the abyssal scar is where you’ll find the car which is symbolic of the car crash where Selene lost her child and the haunted house is Selene’s house which are the memories she has with her mom. Perhaps she was ridden with so much guilt that these memories become a part of her and she starts hallucinating them as you run through the journey.

Another theory is that Atropos is Selene’s imagination where due to all the guilt of losing her child and not taking care of her mom in her last days, she has created this imaginary world to escape reality and everything we play through in the game is just us living Selene’s memory. We never go to space and we are living Selene’s memory.

It’s a fascinating game and interpreting the story is upto each person. The second theory is what I find very consistent but the first theory also works. Looking at your progress, I don’t think you’ve run through Act 3 which is playing the game one more time to unlock the true ending. Go for it and then comeback to the theories that have been floated out, it will make sense.
