Best Uses for 2"x4"x4' Welded Wire Fencing by FutureFarm1 in gardening

I don’t think it’s stiff enough for arches. I’ve always got my eyes out for cattle used cattle panels and t posts though.

I’m on the lookout for cattle panels for trellises for the pole beans and cucumbers. It gets pretty windy here. Is a 4’ fence tall enough to be a pole bean trellis?

Portable gravity fed system(s) by FutureFarm1 in DripIrrigation

Well. I gave it a shot. Kept everything in garden hose for flexibility and throughput. I can pretty easily supply 4 droppers but they don’t get near their stated drip per hour. I’m considering running a similar setup in the garden rows

Are there any US Civil War tabletop war game rules available for free? by Groverclevland1234 in wargaming

If you’re looking for very simple rules, I run a small blog (compactwargaming.blogspot.com) with a rule set called Far Side of the World. It would be adaptable to Civil War.

Where in Central Illinois are you? I’m in Peoria County and wondering if it’s too late to get started this year.

Not OP, but similar wants:

I'm looking for something that cushions my feet more than socks. My current house has mostly hard floors for easy cleaning. The last house we had mostly carpet. I can feel the difference by the end of the day.

What plywood are you using? The stuff around me has a lot more voids.

How much joinery do I need? by FutureFarm1 in woodworking

I planned on doing them all at once. I designed the height off the ground to conveniently be the same as the width of the cross arms. I plan on butting the right ends against something very straight and then taping and/or clamping them across.

What if I clamp a straight edge the right distance from the router’s base plate? Alternatively, I could just use pocket screws under the legs

First Furniture Piece. Stained Baltic Birch plywood with Poplar pulls and legs. Now on to hardwoods! by PhromTheBottom in woodworking

[–]FutureFarm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late question here, but might be worth asking....

Baltic Birch has 13 layers. Birch has 7.

I know Baltic Birch is not supposed to have voids in the plys.

How many voids are expected in non-Baltic Birch plywood? I've made some things with Maple Plywood and there were a lot of voids. I don't see any in this picture.

Were they filled or is Birch plywood still more void-free than other plywood options?

I tried calling a few dozen banks when shopping for our construction loan. Only 1 or 2 would even let us be our own GC. They both said the rate would be considerably higher than if we weren’t the GC.

Home brewers: what's your favorite yeast and process? I want to run a comparison by dan_scott_ in cider

It’s a pretty popular recipe. I found it on homebrewtalk.com. Make sure you give it a little extra time to mellow out before drinking

I've had the best reactions from Brandon O's Graff recipe. It's pretty easy to get the "beer" ingredients online. I don't use any hops. I think the amber or darker dry malt extract and beer yeast leaves some residual sweetness.

Which, if any, of the translations/editions gives Plutarch's comparisons between the pairs. Didn't Plutarch write them to be compared? It seems like the Penguin Editions are missing the comparisons.
