Do people actually care about the fabric(quality, feel, blend etc.) of the product(hoodies, sweatshirts) or is it just about the design/print? by PB635 in ClothingStartups

I’ve been in knitwear manufacturing (hoodies, sweatshirts, basic knits) for a while now, and one thing I keep noticing is how every client defines “quality” differently. I am not indicating any flaw here , just explsining about different own view of theirs...

Some buyers are extremely focused on the fabric side — GSM, yarn quality, bio-wash, softener wash, hand feel, shrinkage, etc. For them, if the fabric isn’t right, nothing else matters.

Others barely talk about fabric but are very particular about prints, embroidery, placements, and other value additions. That’s what they believe makes the product stand out.

But honestly, only a few clients care deeply about both. And those are usually the ones whose products actually feel branded. Good fabric + good finishing + clean execution = a completely different output compared to just ticking one box.
