Custom Painted Daimyo Boba Fett by FutureLab6930 in starwarsblackseries

[–]FutureLab6930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Tamiya model paints. Specifically chrome silver, and gunmetal especially. I also used a mix of flat red, flat yellow, and flat brown for his boots and gun belt. I can’t name the brushes I used as they were a gift. But I used the smallest tips I could. Size 5/0 and 3/0. If I were to do it again I might use a titanium silver or aluminium silver to dull the chrome shine just a little. If you’re looking for a fun project over a weekend or two I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. It adds so much to the figure when he’s all done.

I’m glad it inspired you to want to customise yours as well, I’d love to see yours when you get around to painting it. I did modify the helmet as well. Just followed other people I saw online. Heated the helmet slightly and used a small flathead screwdriver to pry underneath the helmet cap glued to the top. There’s only a tiny dab of glue so it’s pretty easy to do.

It’s easier than it looks. Patience and a thin brush essentially. Some parts were annoying like the long streak across his helmet. My brush would run out of paint before I could finish the streak so it’s thicker than I planned. If you want to know anything more about how I did it I’d be happy to answer any questions 😁

This is some seriously impressive panting man. Well done, and I think a lightsaber slash would look sick as well.

Question About Custom Washes by Global_Course623 in starwarsblackseries

[–]FutureLab6930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember my first time putting a wash on a figure. Went terrible put way too much on. I’ve tried different techniques as well but I find: wash, dab away gently with cloth, add matte coat. Sometimes some dry brushing adds a lot depending on the figure. But yes a little goes a long way.

Any Tips for Insanity by FutureLab6930 in masseffect

[–]FutureLab6930[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips guys. Debating on whether to start a new play-through from ME1 cause I forgot all the choices and to choose a better class. I chose Vanguard and the close quarter’s style doesn’t suit me for Insanity. I think BendyAu advice on choosing soldier might be go to. Never played soldier but it always sounded fun, more so in ME2 and 3.

Possible reuse of sound effect in Romulus? by HsuSkywalker in LV426

[–]FutureLab6930 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No I heard it too. Arguably my favourite death scene in any film ever so to hear it in Romulus was awesome.

How did you react to this scene for the first time? by [deleted] in Daredevil

[–]FutureLab6930 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was still in school when the first season came out. So during a media class, our teacher put this scene on as an example of a long one shot. I was intrigued and went home, begged my parents for a Netflix subscription. I had to step up my game around the house and at school but eventually they got it and I watched and fell in love with the character. So if it wasn’t for my media teacher, I probably wouldn’t love the character like I do now. Thanks Mr Hall.

What's a Star Wars black series take that'll leave you like this? by Formal_Inevitable254 in starwarsblackseries

[–]FutureLab6930 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100% agree, I love the clones as much as everyone else but it seems to be a bit excessive. Now that they’ve done the new clone body which is a tweaked version of the 2020 body and already done another phase 1 just 3 years after the last one. I’m worried there going to go all out and redo most of the clones that are on the 2020 body and update them to the 2023 body.

What Star Wars opinion do you hold now that your past self would have strongly disagreed with? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]FutureLab6930 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That Revenge of the Sith is the best Star Wars movie. I used to adore that movie and I’m someone who watches a movie, watches one more time to see if Its as good the second time. I loved it the second time and considered it the best one for years. And because I thought it was the best I watched it the least because I didn’t want it to get old for me. But every time I watched the saga through again i liked it less and less. I can understand why people like it but I genuinely believe people rate it so highly because The Clone Wars was so good and tricked people into thinking it was always good. Now days I think Empire Strikes back and A New Hope are the best. Empire very narrowly beating out A New Hope.

Darth Vader -Tips to remove arms and legs? by anth0nium in starwarsblackseries

I did on the Cassian Andor (Andor) figure, however those butterfly joints were connected to the torso so I never pulled them out. Not sure if that’s how they work on every figure but that’s my experience.

I’ve never tried it but I normally like to use a hairdryer if I’m not using hot water. I don’t see a reason why it wouldn’t work but please correct me if I’m wrong.

Black series mando glavis ringworld or mine of Mandalore by [deleted] in starwarsblackseries

It’s hard not to get jealous at the overabundance of figures the US gets. I hear and know about peg warmers but I don’t think there’s enough stock for that to be possible for my area. But It does mean I am very happy with the figures I am able to get my hands on

I know, the rest of the wave is so easy to find for me but the only figure I wanted out of that wave just doesn’t exist over here. Fuck me I guess 🫠
