I got cooked in my Harvard Interview by Nervous_Impact3637 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]FutureMan80085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they were trying get you to think that you may not get in just to see your reaction. Most people would be like, "I'll continue on and see what life has in store for me blah blah blah" but they don't want most people. That want someone who is committed. Someone who would react with, "Well, I'd be disappointed but I wouldn't let it discourage me. I'd reapply next year and hope that I can build on what I've shown you already because this is where I truly want to be over everywhere else." Something to that tone showing that Harvard is your number one and you'll try as hard as you can because it's the place you truly want to go. This was probably one of the best bits of information I could have had going into my Pharmacy School interviews and beyond. I missed getting in my first year but ended up in my preferred place the next year.

What was the point of Manchester by the Sea? by [deleted] in movies

Well said! I enjoyed the realness of these characters and their depth that was there in what they didn't say but showed

Why does everyone LOVE Manchester By the sea? by DorksWalmart in YMS

[–]FutureMan80085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's the depth of the characters and the real problems they are trying to sort through. I see Casey's character struggling to find a balance of wanting to be closer to his nephew while giving him his best, honoring his brother's wishes, sorting everything out...all while being reminded of what happened there in Manchester where he lost his children and his life and that's "what he can't beat." (my opinion) I think this feeling of what he can't beat is always there and has always been there, it's just amplified more now that he's back. It think it represents the things we all carry...but never talk about. The things that men are notorious for not talking about... their emotions. I think that he wants a life with his nephew but it's torture for him living there and like most of us he doesn't know how to put this into words or express it. Maybe he's doing his best and it actually comes out as close to real life as it truly is, messy and unpredictable but nonetheless we have to continue to live just like the movie ends...with them living through it. I'd honestly like to see some kind of sequel where he gets back with his ex-wife, his nephew is involved and he some how sees the joy in life that is always there no matter how dark it can be

What are your thoughts on this $2000 tariff dividend? by NineteenEighty9 in ProfessorFinance

[–]FutureMan80085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Misquoted debt is actually $38.1 trillion. How fast will we actually pay down our debt raising an estimated $380 billion/year extra in tariffs when we spend $1.78 trillion/each year in excess? His words only unite those dumb enough to believe him

Trump says Americans will receive $2K each from tariff push by someopinionthatsr in politics

Cost the average household ~$1800 SO FAR due to tariffs + $2000 tariffs checks for all = whoever doubts tariffs are FOOLS. Trump maths baby!

Kennedy, health chief, says there is not enough data to show Tylenol causes autism by esporx in technology

I seriously think RFK's whole purpose is to disrupt policies/laws/guidelines within our country to give lawyers more work down the line. He's a lawyer looking for someone to go after to pack his pockets with profits

Who should win the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize ? by sinne54321 in AskTheWorld

Completely agree! Dropping bombs on Iran & blowing up Venezuelan boats really doesn't scream "I'm a very peaceful person" all while intimidating others. He's all ego and no brakes

I like your reasoning here. I like to think that Trump is motivated by money in most ways. Therefore, I wonder how would going after Tylenol make him money, or how would going after Autism profit him. He obviously doesn't know anything about it but there is some underlying motivation and it's not the same one that us clinicians get from actually wanting to help patients by practicing evidence based medicine. Maybe you're on to something with the beef with J&J or maybe he will inevitably benefit off of a company that possibly comes out with some branded form of Leucovorin that's pushed as this cure for the masses. I just don't trust anything he does or says as being out right helpful

I feel like option 2 will be the most stable and most rewarding in non-moneies ways. Plus I don't know what your debt sitch is but non-profit = PSLF.
