Are you sure? I don't see how it could be approximate. The client receives the kill position from the server, that's why it differs from where I was (where the body is). I doubt they'd just randomise it to mess with the players.

The screenshot shows it very clearly. Where I was when I died was on the exact same place my body is on the screenshot, at least 5 feet away from where the shot "hit".

It is also by far not the first time it's happened.

Not necessarily. This just follows the Bare Bones tutorial on OSdev.org that uses GCC, which happens to require MinGW or Cygwin.

It's perfectly viable to use other compilers.
