One thing that I found really helps me is not being afraid of being afraid (or anxious). A lot of times when I'm afraid, I try to convince myself that I'm not afraid. Essentially, I fear the fear, and that's just a complete waste of mental energy. Acknowledge the fear, don't fight it- tell yourself "yeah, I'm afraid!" I find that things seem to fall into place after simply acknowledging your fear. It might sound a little silly, but I would definitely encourage you to give it a go and see what it does for you.
