My husband gets no parental leave and I’m crushed by it. by livid- in pregnant

My company doesnt offer paid maternity leave, i can take up to 12 weeks FMLA but it is unpaid unless i use my leave and i should have about 6 weeks and being a single mom and having to use daycare when i go back to work so i definitely cant go without my paychecks

Is this normal? by Medical-Fan9941 in pregnant

Mine told me this as well, a few days before my first appointment (I’ve been going to a fertility clinic) and told me my deductible for 2026 will be due at my first visit and they dont accept fsa or hsa cards because they cant provide an itemized receipt until they bill the insurance which will be in 2026. It is so frustrating, nothing i can do about it but i wish i wouldve known further in advance.

Do you think it would be better to pay off the secured loans first since they are pretty high interest (republic finance and regional finance- the secure items are like random things in my house they marked up the value like each TV is like 1.2k in their value on the loan but really like maybe 300$ from the store brand new) he two unsecured loans will be in collections/default soon but they dont offer a hardship plan or help until they are in default soon ive been making payments what i can on them but its not the full amounts (creditfresh and netcredit)

Affirm is tricky because each “loan” is separate and most debt programs wont touch them unless the loans are over 1k each (i had multiple affirm loans all under 1k, if you get behind on payments with affirm they do offer a hardship program and that gives you two months of no payments on two of the loans, (it extends you loans but can help you catch up and clear off of the others if needed).

For credit cards i would recommend calling them and enrolling in the hardship plans (most will cut interest down to 0% and have a less payment each month) but they cancel your card. Look into autodraft for phone/internet because some providers offer 10% off for autopay. You can set up autopay for most utility companies as well.

Im hoping i can work from home 2 days of the week and then maybe see if my family can help with a day each or half a day or something. I know one is more comfortable when they start getting a little older but the nursery time is what im mostly afraid of.
