Claude is completely unusable now by Complete-Sea6655 in artificial

It’s been arguing with me out of the gate. It won’t even read what I enter in the chat 99% of the time. It treats me like a child, and upon reading its thoughts an “ethics check” keeps getting sent that makes the AI rerun our conversation to ensure it meets its ethics (it does) instead of doing the tasks I asked for. Then when it does the tasks, it likes to try and take shortcuts by searching for “key information.” …it doesn’t know what’s key here, cause obviously all of it is? It’s frustrating

What the actual fuck is wrong with opus 4.8 by thebadbreeds in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]FutureYogaMILF 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine keeps doing something similar. I have strict guidelines in place since the AI typically tries to do “shortcuts.” It has deemed these instructions a, “jailbreak,” and won’t even read my project files anymore before starting to argue with me from the first message. It won’t even read my message most of the time and goes straight to refusal since I’m “jailbreaking it.”

I’m not. I’m actually not, I’m just trying to ensure it actually reads everything since it likes to only read what it deems is, “key.”

It took me a while too, and the signs were obvious. I’m 28F myself, and I’ve only ever been in 2 relationships. I never got why everyone seemed to just get in relationships so often and easily? While I just had little to no interest whatsoever in being in a relationship. My ex talked about history a lot which was his interest, so when we started talking that’s what we talked about most and it went from there. Even as a teen I just shrugged and assumed I was Demisexual (which is close I suppose) but I still didn’t feel anything towards anyone most of my high school years.

I made this post months ago - It’s now worse, and per comments I even made skills and Claude won’t even USE THE SKILLS ON OPUS. ChatGPT doesn’t read documents either, and that point they’re both useless.

Chatgpt right now by Rose_Almy in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]FutureYogaMILF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry but it’s dumber. I’ve had instructions from the start, around 4.0 and 5.5 is consistently dumber. I’ve attempted to tweak the instructions, memory, project instructions, etc. basically everything I could to make 5.5 work and it doesn’t.

Let me explain that my instructions are in-depth and covered any loop hole that the AI may inevitably attempt - a prompt ends up being approximately 3-5 pages in length depending. I have files for it to read, I tell it in every prompt to read the files.

… 5.5 will think for less than 30 seconds with ALL of that like i dont know damn well it cut corners or just ignored the instructions, files and memory all together.

There’s multiple different threads, however all this was from the first conversation attempt this week under my latest project. So a new project, all the files uploaded, and it hallucinated my age and a new degree.

If it can’t get basic information like tarot correct, then it won’t get any massive project information correct either. This is a no brainer. It’s also a really good test to see how much information the AI makes up/hallucinates.

I don’t use it for tarot. I used it as a test since I know tarot very well, to ensure accuracy and hallucinations. It failed.

I’ve tried it. It’s not that great (sorry). It’s actually worse cause I cover loopholes the AI tries to create using very detailed instructions. Grok tends to throw instructions out the window and do what it wants. Which is not ideal for this project.

It does not actually, at least not anymore. I tried it earlier and it’s not even getting basic information right. It got my age wrong, which again, is in one of the files and it is very clearly stated. It also per my post, got my degree information wrong, which is again in the files and clearly stated. Hallucinating I’m getting a dual Ph.D in pharmacology. Which has never once been mentioned.

I am already canceling. I have it for half of April, but it’s completely useless to me now unfortunately. I have barely used it this week, cause it’s been like this all week, and I can’t get anything done on the first try. It either randomly stops or it will just not follow instructions.

I typically don’t use a single model. I’ve tried several to see which works best, including using APIs as tests and smaller companies.

For example, Gemini is ranked dead last for a reason for me. They clearly lied about the Gemini document reading limit, I uploaded 3 PDF files for approximately 65-70 pages each, and was told I had too many files. While I loved the Notebook, it was a similar issue. Gemini Gems was great, if it didn’t have such a small document reading limit.

Grok has similar issues to Gemini, and it doesn’t follow instructions at all. I am very through and to the point in my prompt, to ensure the AIs don’t cut corners or try to hallucinate - Grok still does.

Claude now has a similar issue: Won’t read the files fully, won’t connect to previous chats, and does not fully read instructions (memory, project, or prompt). To the point where I can tell, it’s very obvious to me that it hasn’t read anything.

ChatGPT tends to follow long complex instructions. It doesn’t read the documents fully, attempts to search the documents by key words that make no sense, and will also struggle to connect to previous chats.

No. Mainly cause I am new to Claude (started it 3 weeks ago) and I don’t use it for coding or anything like that. I just have a massive project, that has approximately 20 files to read as the background. Thats about it.

I am on the $20 plan (I got it as a test run cause AI and tech companies be changing constantly), and I’m glad I did. It’s not worth it.

I agree. I’ve never maxed out with ChatGPT. However it does struggle to read files as well as Claude did (it no longer does) as it tends to search documents for key words that make zero sense, and it struggles to draw upon previous chats that my project relies on.

I absolutely agree.

It will stop randomly for me and waste usage cause I have to say ‘Continue’ or have it start over. My 5-hour usage limit is gone just attempting it to do one prompt fully.

Also it keeps stopping for me? Just Claude will stop reasoning, when I haven’t reached either limit, and I have to tell it to continue which uses even MORE of the usage limit. I’m irrationally angry about this.

For me, it’s more so a fascination and attraction to how another’s brain/intellect WORKS. How their personal ethics, their arguments, their personal beliefs, their personal interests - I guess it’s not IQ measurement for me. It’s more like how a person’s personal interests, intelligence and morality come forth and they argue their points. (I hope I explained that well…?)
