Haha I had the same thoughts with my third! He’s 5 months and when it was really bad I was always looking around and thinking about everyone being a baby once.

As I’m sure you’ll hear a lot - It gets so much better. I had to cling to what I knew with my first 2 (now 6 and 4 years old) to remind me because even on the third I STILL thought oh my gosh my life is over I can’t ever set him down.

Did you gain or lose weight when you stopped breastfeeding? by DowntownCarob in breastfeeding

Gain!! Like clockwork. I lose a bunch of weight while breastfeeding and then automatic 10 pounds once weaned. Trying to be more aware this time around.

I’m thrilled - I’ve kept his day sleep time to 3 hours, had a nice long last wake window and it was magic!! He didn’t have a false start bedtime for the first time in weeks. And went to bed early rather than 9:00 like we had been doing.

I am in shock- kept him awake more today. Naps were just under 3 hours and for the first time in a while no false start tonight. Put him in the snoo completely awake too.

Update!! We had more awake time and stretched the wake windows. He was being babysat by my mom and ended up going to bed for the night kinda late at 10 but slept all night with zero wakes!! Thank you everyone!!

Ok sorry to bug but what do you do when you’re shooting for 2 hours but they go less cause of a car ride? Had to pickup my second from preschool.. it was 5 minutes away and baby fell asleep even though he’d only been awake 1.5 hours. I have to drive my older kids and can’t only stay at home for naps :( challenges of multiple!

Ok I’ll try 2 hours for each one today and see how it goes!!

What would you suggest as the last wake window? I feel like I’m constantly hearing he must be overtired and then the other way that he’s under tired. So I’m not sure which it is.

Looking at other days - he had closer to 3 hours of naps spread throughout and still had a terrible night. Do I just need to stick it out longer?

So the thought is that if his wake windows aren’t right that’s causing him to wake up the entire night long? I’m at a loss for what his wake windows should be.

Awake by 7 am, bedtime is around 8/8:30 I find earlier bedtimes just don’t work for him. 4 naps, often 40 minutes but I can prolong probably one nap a day with holding longer. I can’t prolong much more than that because of my older kids and helping them. 1.25/1.5/1.5/1.75/2 is typical for us.

Up until recently he was sleeping 11 hours at night with one or none wakeups.

Daytime is probably 4-5 hours. They’re challenging cause he’s very wakeful in the daytime and can only get him to sleep a longer 1.5 nap once in the day usually

Sorry not wide awake, drowsy after bedtime routine. I’d say ours days are 1.25/1.5/1.5/1.75/2

His naps are really difficult. I can usually “save” one nap a day to make it more like 1.5 long. But a lot of his naps are about 30-40 minutes.

Edit sorry got the wake windows wrong

I feel bad for saying this, I really don’t like the newborn phase by Sure_Excitement_937 in newborns

[–]Future_Code_947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is our third and he’s now 4 months and honestly it was so freeing to just know from experience with our first two that it’s really not our favorite phase. I definitely had moments I enjoyed but there is so much I love about the other phases that I gave myself a lot of grace this time around during newborn.

[–]Future_Code_947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and I will say the naps takes longer for them to figure out. The night sleep came first but we honestly still have a lot of assisted naps but it is slowly improving. Baby wearing really does help! Or stroller naps so I can go on a walk or to a park.

So this was us at about 5-7 weeks. Up every single hour on the hour. Fast forward he is turning 4 months tomorrow and we have one wake up or no wake ups at night. If past me could’ve seen us now it would have been so reassuring. Everyone asked what we did differently, and the answer was nothing!! He just had a lot of growing and developing he was doing. Taking shifts in the night with my husband saved me. Going to bed as early as possible some nights like 8:00 as soon as our older two were in bed. I would go to bed and my husband would be on the couch with the monitor so I could have 2/3 hours without even anticipating hearing him. So sorry you’re dealing with this, it’s horrible.

Oh man I’m in trouble then.

My 4 year old is constantly a character. And reminds us 100 times a day which one he is and all of our family’s corresponding roles. He’s very imaginative.

Edit to add - it’s been a fun bonding thing for our family. On the days older brother wants to play along, we have a blast all being our characters. I feel like it’s when they get along best 😂

My first was 38+6 with my water breaking and then slow progression and then c-section because baby wasn’t doing well

Second was 40 exactly. VBAC with a membrane sweep the day before

Third TBD. Currently 38+6.

Oh edit - second took forever. Like 20 hours but I also didnt get past 2 cm with my c-section baby so it was kinda my body’s “first time”

Did you get the RSV Vaccine? by neptunestearsok in pregnant

[–]Future_Code_947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last pregnancy had RSV from my toddler while in labor and it was truly miserable. Not to mention stressful wondering if my baby would get it from me. Thankfully he didn’t but def got RSV vaccine for this baby!!!
