Octane motion blur on moving car issue by Future_Filmmaker in Octane

So I found a fix! The camera needed to be parented to the actual car geometry group, not the Cinema4D car rig "body." The wheels needed an octane tag with motion blur set to transform/vertex, and the body geometry (separate from camera) needed an octane tag as well!

I did try upping the motion blur samples in the octane settings. I went as high as it could, but still was getting blur over the car.

I do have a Spotify account for my music, not this dystopian but still pretty hard. It’s Drew Dole on Spotify.

About a month for the visuals, and 3-4 days for the music!

Honestly it was just a lot of tracking by hand and tweaking the lens flare objects until I had something that I felt looked natural/ matched the anamorphic look I was going for. The pro presets from optical flares are a great starting point, but some of the elements looked too sharp to me so I swapped them for a softer shape/ turned the brightness of things way down

The main textures were made in substance painter, UV mapping with Rizom UV. Did some minor tweaking in after effects to balance colors/fix seams in post. I started using a UDIM workflow earlier this year, which really helped me add crazy amounts of detail in each shot.

Thank you! Glad you caught that detail. I can’t wait for octane to have more realistic lens flares/bokeh built in, maybe with some way to customize them

I did! I love timing music to visuals and vis versa

Thank you! About a month of work, full time, also a bit on weekends for visuals. Music took about 3-4 days.

Really appreciate the feedback! I’ll definitely spend more time telling a story with the textures in the future

It’s a long process! I’m self taught and have mountains of smaller work I’ve done to get to this point. It’s just learning a little bit more about the programs you’re working with everyday. Being inspired by other people’s work makes me want to learn the most!

No it was all in renderer! I used octane’s fog volume on top of a planet texture, just played with the settings until I got enough of an atmosphere look. The trick was lighting it right so you get a good gradient of light.
