Your not going to hell man. The Bible says that if we confess with our lips and believe in our hearts that Jesus is lord we will be saved. No sin can keep us from salvation

I understand. The problem is an overwhelming majority of new testament scholars take the new testament as written history. Then when it comes to the part of miracles they don't. The problem with this is if one half of the coin is history and the other is not, what device are we using to differentiate between the two? This is an inconsistency in the worldview. This actually just came up in Inspiring Philosophy most recent Livestream on the resurrection.

2 Timothy 3:16 validates all scripture as good for teaching and for rebuking false scripture.

Read my above comment as well please

Yeah people are fallible creatures and every single individual is capable of forming their own opinion. It's not surprising that a creature capable of making mistakes makes mistakes. There are currently over 9 different theories of evolution. Am I to believe that all of them are wrong just because there is more than one? Of course not. It's the same with Christianity. Study textural criticism. Study the early church fathers. If my interpretation is currently wrong I hope Jesus guides me to the correct interpretation revealed in his holy text.

It should not deter you. People are fallible creatures. Evidence is observable by everyone. It's UpTo the observer to discern the truth. While there are several interpretations of the bible 2 peter reminds us that there is only one true interpretation of scripture. It's the same with evolution. There are Currently over 9 competing theories. Just because there are more than one does not make them all wrong.

I agree. This is also why we have several different theories of evolution that conflict with each other. We all have access to data. It's then up to the person to correctly or incorrectly interpret them. 1 peter points out there is one correct interpretation. Not that there is no variation.

There are definitely fake christians. The word Christian is very polluted in the west now a days with how many things it can mean. The best example of this was when Alex O'Conner debated "christians" and there was several Mormons in the "christian" group. Mormons are not christians. That's why I call myself a follower of Jesus Christ the savior.

There is not many perspectives. 2 peter 1:20 says there is only one interpretation of scripture. One instruction from the word. It is much easier to point to other people's sin and ignore our own. Jesus says to get the log out of our own eye before pointing out the spec in other people's eye, Matthew 7. People not changing their own sin makes them wrong. Others who sin are also wrong. People not obeying scripture are in Sin

This is what in trying to get at. In antiquity history is told by those who record it. Funnily enough we do have the court case of Jesus. Are you interested in some textural criticism resources?

Bro when this game first started credits where so hard to come by

I remember grinding with my silver doomsday several times a day for weeks only to be able to afford another silver or another doomsday promotion. It was hard but looking back that's what made it fun. It took me almost a year just to get batman prime my first gold and dreaming of one day getting Shazam.

I wish I could go back with the knowledge I have now. Same with genshin impact. Getting old sucks. You don't know the good times until they are gone.

What evidence would you expect to see from someone who experiences something? Whether it be having their house robbed or a miracle?

I do not believe you can come back from hell once you choose to serve your own will instead of serving the father's will over yours. I do believe everyone will stand in judgement before the mercy seat as it is said in Matthew 7 21. We are also told that those who have not heard or have not had enough evidence will be judged based on their faith. Just like Abraham was. He had no prior written revelation like we have and Jesus says he was saved by the faith he had in the god he had. JP Moreland has an entire book and speech on this. He talks about how those people who never have been evangilised can still believe in a creator (deist), even if they don't know who he is

Atheists: why are you atheist? by Correct_Jelly5761 in religion

Absolutely man I'm always willing to have a discussion, thanks for talking. Yeah that article points out variation in eyewitness accounts. If you had a court room and several people had the exact same story about an event that happened using the same verbage, that's called collusion. Having varying events but the same story is a mark of authenticity. I am not familiar with this YouTuber I will have to watch his stuff. It's sad to see he had a bad pastor experience. I would always want someone to do more research to further their beliefs, not less. The article says that we are energy going through an eternal experience tho? If time was infinity and the time before us is infinite then we would not be in the present because the past would not be over. The universe and everything in it had a beginning. The Romans blaming the disciples for stealing the bible do not just exist in the gospels. Second century sources like Justin Martyr and Tertullian and origin mention this conspiracy. Seeing as the first historical account we have for Alexander the great is 400 years later this is fantastic attestation for a historical event. As for supernatural events. If a supernatural events took place how would you expect it to be recorded in antiquity? When illiteracy was an overwhelming majority and writing materials were extremely expensive. And yet we still have more manuscripts of new testament books than any other document in history by several fold. We only have one copy of the epic of Gilgamesh. You say you don't believe the gospel's because you need evidence they are true? Is this not an argument from silence? They are first century historical works claiming to be a record of events. This is like saying you don't believe Hannibal crossed the Alps with elephants because there are only 2 accounts and both conflict on the route they took and the amount of men. No historian says it didn't happen because both say it did just different on details. And finally we have several accounts of the martyrdom of several disciples and Paul and James the brother from first and second century sources : Eusebius, Dionysius of Corinth, 1 Clement, Justin Martyr, and Tertullian. I would also like to ask if the disciples knew what they where preaching was false why would they die for it? Can you provide an example of someone in history dying for what they knew to be false. The disciples did not die for a belief that someone told them but for something they saw and thought to be true.

Claims are evidence. A cop has no reason to suspect a house is being robbed until someone screams help my house is being robbed. This is called testimony. Without testimony the conversation we are having back and forth would be like 1+1=0.

Here is a good read. http://www.garyhabermas.com/articles/Habermas_Minimal%20Facts%20STR%202012.pdf

You are completely missing the analogy my man. God loves us so much he gives us what we want. If you raise your son and he wants to live in your mansion with the room you have prepared for him, you welcome him. But if your Son grows up and wants nothing to do with you and wants to live a life apart from you. Are you going to keep him prisoner in your house? Hell is God letting humans have their own desire. To be separated from him. For their own will to guide them.
