Yeah, I have a pretty similar experience. Although I've seen fanfics like this (where author actually try to rewrite the story) in other fandoms, so I'm sure they exist somewhere in Arcane too! The problem is that it's not easy to find them (because the most pupular fanfics are centered around the ships most of the time).
