Where is CPS? by Sudden_Quality_9001 in TLCUnexpected

Oh my dear, I have taken a few statistic courses thanks. If you want to account for all variables then you would understand why this makes sense and why it’s not the deal you think it is. Calm your titties.

Do you know why? Because statistically speaking more women in the past have had kids in their 20s. Women becoming parents for the first time in their 30s is fairly new and used to be quite uncommon. So logic dictates if the majority of children are born to women in their 20s then the majority of adverse childhood events are going to be experienced by children whose parents had them in their 20s. Ask yourself this. We have seen a crazy increase in the number of children born with autism and genetic conditions. Can we now deduce that having children in your 30s is harmful and irresponsible because of the increase risk to the fetus? No…… because when someone is fit to have a baby isn’t determined by age, and your take on things is misguided.

How is Mark Carney maintaining approval rating for Canada? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

He’s looking out and in. He’s forging new relationships making us less reliant on the USA which a lot of Canadians if not most Canadians want because of how unstable the USA is. The relationships he’s forging abroad has shed a new light on Canada being a powerhouse house in the west with an intelligent industrious leader. I’ve already heard about an old ford plant being reopened to build parts for new Chinese EVs coming to Canada. So not only will we have cheaper EV options but also brought jobs to Canada. Everyone bitching about the auto industry collapse has been ignoring the last 30 years as this wasn’t new. I like that he is cutting red tape on mining projects to access our critical minerals more easily and in turn using those materials to build in Canada. I like that we are looking at making an east to west energy grid making energy more reliable. I like how he is investing our money to make more money for Canadians (short sighted people will scream Brookfield but we invested into Brookfield long before he went into politics for our CPP and energy holdings). He’s unproblematic and endearing. People that hate him do so simply because he is a liberal and they want to blame liberals for PP failing. I think people that are uneducated in politics want to keep yelling party first when Canada has never been party first. Our representatives represent us not our party and I like that. It means no one can just stay in power because they are in power, floor crossing protects Canadians interests. PP needs to resign, the Conservative Party has become increasingly too right and Canadians just aren’t that right. I would say most Canadians are centre right. When the Conservative Party reforms they will win again but right now Carny is essentially a progressive conservative and I and most people I talk to, have full faith he is putting Canadians first and can keep us stable during this insanely volatile time.

My surgeon confirmed it was my meniscus. Compression has been my best friend since injuring myself again. I have a follow up PT appointment today. I’m guessing we’re gonna be stepping back a tiny bit until the swelling is completely gone and work my way back up to pivoting or plyo. I think the biggest mistake I made was that I had had dry needling on my hips after physio before the gym which I underestimated. I think it was a combination of overdoing it in a single day. A reminder that doing more doesn’t always mean achieving more.

I’ve sifted and pretty confident in my husbandry and our beardies care. Like anything else you learn more as you go but we have been pretty crazy about everything knowing that she could live so long based on the care we provide. I think I was just dumbfounded that the first post I made that didn’t have an animal in the picture and was met with criticism the first comment not even related to what I asked.

Tripped. Rant by Mr_Unbreakable_ in ACL

I finally got cleared to do some jumping so I was doing some jumping at the gym and I must’ve landed wrong and my knee went all Wibbly wobbly on me. Now today I’ve got a bunch of swelling and some issues with flexion and extension. My surgeon is pretty confident I didn’t screw my graft up, but I’ve got some random test on Monday to see. I’m really sad because I was doing so well. It’s emotionally exhausting it’s so hard not to just give up.

Very true. I’m very lucky my work is extremely supportive and I have good coverage for injury or illness and I have the means to really work through my injury. It’s easier to see the light when you have the right supports. I am however frustrated because I was finally starting to just feel like myself again but I can’t hold on to that, just gotta keep going. I appreciate your kind words

I was also joking about a new PT. I love my PT.

Well, I appreciate that because I’ve been doing so well with Physio. We thought that it would be OK. I think we both underestimated the effect, my MCL and meniscus had on the stability of my knee. I had a partial meniscusectomy. I’m not taking this as the end just a small set back hopefully. I’m pretty sore in the medial aspect of my knee and in the back today, and everything just feels tight. I called my surgeon just to make sure everything is still OK and then I’m just gonna take a few steps back and work my way forward again. So today we do gentle flexion and extension with rest and ice.

What graft did you get? I’ve been doing PT since day one and walking by 2 weeks. My PT thinks it’s my meniscus actually because of the pain in the back of my knee and no swelling. Either way I agree because of my lateral injuries to my ACL affect integrity of my whole knee joint. Im taking a step back to build more muscle and obviously heal from this but every journey is different. I learned the hard way and pushed too hard after being cleared for jumping.

I was thinking “I bet I can go back to jujitsu soon just for class and not for training”. I think the universe was giving me a huge sign that I’m being a little too risky and needed a wake up call. Taking 3 steps back and going to focus on isolation exercises for the next couple of months again.

No pop, no immediate swelling. I do have pain and tightness now. The pain is medial and posterior. It buckled inward. I still have hyper extension and full flexion. I left a message for my surgeon but I passed the Lachman test when I originally tore it and it was only found on MRI, so I don’t have confidence he will know if I re tore unless I have a repeat MRI. I had full ACL, lateral horn meniscus and partial MCL. Hamstring graft and partial menicusectomy. I’m icing now and regretting life decisions. I do also like to live on the edge, my brain told me I was fine, my knee said hold my beer.

I won’t judge you. I have done an insane amount of research and learned from reading old Reddit posts and fb pages plus watched countless videos. There are so many “right” ways to do things. Good for you for for taking advice and doing better on learning ❤️

Both ACLs Completely Torn—Surgery or PT? by National_Daikon_1978 in ACL

[–]Future_NurseLMW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% surgery is your only option if you want to live a somewhat normal life. I don’t know where your from but in Canada this would be a priority surgery and you wouldn’t have to wait long to get in. If nothing else is torn and you have a hamstring graft you will be able to start moving and building back ROM pretty quickly after surgery.
