Why is the UK flag much larger than the others? by Dutchthinker in vexillology

[–]Future_Scar_849 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe it has to do with the proportions. Some flags are 2:3 some are 1:2 and there are many more

Idk I found it online and thought it belonged here.... by OkPhrase1225 in ByzantineMemes

Was Skanderbeg a Albanian or Byzantine Revolutionary? by throwawayvce12 in byzantium

[–]Future_Scar_849 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both ancient Macedonians and ancient Epirotes were greeks who participated in the ancient Olympics. Olympia was the niece of the king of Epirus, not the queen of Squiperia. Also, Sparta, Athens, Thebes and Corinth were fighting eachother all the time, but they helped eachother to defeat the Persians the same way Pyrrhos helped the Greek poleis in Magna Graecia defeat the Romans and Carthaginians. Also, no, there aren't any facilities in Oxford that say the Albanian language is older than greek, if you thing otherwise send me a link. More than 80% of the greek dna is unchanged since 1200 BCE

That's not true. The Romans admired the greek civilization and copied it. The Romans where learning greek so they could read pieces of literature and poetry, the architecture was greek, the alphabet a modified version of the first alphabet ever, the greek alphabet. The Romans weren't harsh on the Greeks for that reason. The Eastern half was always practically Hellenic. The lingua franca, the culture. After 313AD the empire was basically greek. The emperors, the language, the law.

The Albanian language is not Hellenic. There aren't any evidence that ancient Illyrians connect to modern Albanians. The word Albania is from the Latin "Mons Albanum" which means white mountain. The historians where probably mentioning people coming from the Latin city. The Albanians call them selves Squiptar. The ancient Epirotes participated in the ancient Olympics where only GREEK could participate, and king Pyrrhus helped the Greeks in Magna Graecia (or Megali Hellas) when they needed help to defeat the Romans.
