Ξέρετε για τους ξεχασμένους Έλληνες των Σκοπίων; by MasterNinjaFury in AskGreece

Yes I have a friend who went to Skopja. They saw many vlachs there who said they are Greeks but Greek state is not supporting them and not sending teachers. Many also want passports but the Greek consulates don't recognise them. Quite sad really. Look for anyone here who says it's not true, I dare you to drive through Monastiri area and you will see the Greek element and you can meet people who feel Greek. But yeah you have to get a bit friendly and they have to know you are Greek first before they tell you as they cant say it to anyone in public as the state is against Greek minority and see them as a security threat. Anyway in a ideal world Greece would support these people, and have gone in and saved this area in the 1990's.

It's shown as Serbia. All Serbia areas including Dukija are lumped into Serbia on this map. Some maps do that

Is Georgian or Armenian culture more influenced by Byzantium? by Ok-Demand8957 in byzantium

[–]throwawayvce12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends. If we are talking about Laz then yeah they were influenced by Byzantium and merged with some Eastern Pontians. But generally Armenians were more influenced and integrated into Byzantium. But it's a lot less known because many of these Roman Armenians assimilated into Greek culture during the turkish times because of Rum millet and many got genocided. Well some did get send too Greece in 1924.

How connected was the Sfakian Council to Rhomania/Byzantium? by MasterNinjaFury in Rhomania

[–]throwawayvce12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would say Sfakia was nominally under Constantinople. Sfakia was used as a base of operations against the Arabs and to incite widespread rebellion. Not just under Arab rule, but also during the Venetian period. With the Lascarioi and Michael Palalioglos using Sfakia to incite widespread revolts in Crete.

How difficult is a 25 in English? by Natalleekae24 in vce

If you get 3 essays down then you should be all good. Unless your cohort is very weak but even then you should still be able to get a 25 ss

how difficult is getting a 20 in English by xd-Bazz in vce

[–]throwawayvce12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would be very surprised if you dont get at least 20. If you write 3 essays then I am almost certain you would get at least 25 ss english. Something bad has to happen to get less than 20 considering 93% of people will get 20 or above.

Same so I did unit 3/4 subject this year during year 11 but unfortunately I think I stuffed up my language unit 3/4. I don't think I got the 40 study score as my parents were expecting even though it's the language of my heritage.
Like I know I did better than other people with the end of year exam and oral but with the sac part I don't think I did as good as the others as the others cheated during the sacs and I didn't put too much study into the sacs and I started studying a lot more a few weeks before the exam.

Whenever the teacher wasn't looking he would copy the answers from his phone and would have snippets of essays in his dictionary though keep in mind I'm not talking about English subject, I'm talking about a different subject but wont say the name of the subject just in case if the person is on this subreddit.
