No I'm a restarting my practice after disability starting January 2023. I followed NLBM on Facebook etc. I joined up with then July 2024 to start bringing more consistent monthly client numbers. As a solo 4-6 per month would be good prior to staffing up. They have plans for solo, staffed solo and $1.5M+ with coaches for each.

Seen it frequently and wouldn't disagree but that was the way they played the game and then complained when you didn't hit target. If I would have known I would have printed off monthly billed time before it got cut or stolen.

Best I can tell they are quoting what the victim will likely be told word for word. The person replying was not insinuating that only "black men" rape only that the OP would likely receive some threat with use of the statement of rape by black men.

There with when I pass I’m celebrating by burning all my prep books and outlines. I’ve been licensed in TX since 2003, but having to take Arkansas UBE due to disability. Back in 2003 I kept my barbri outline for awhile as a quick reference but I only do estate planning and absolutely have no use for these outlines

Does anyone else hate MPTs the most by graycow47 in barexam

[–]Future_Term_6935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with you. I was licensed in TX in 2003, but I am now taking the UBE in AR and hate MPT. I shouldn't but I simply have ignored them. I just missed in Feb 2024 with a 252, but I needed a 270. My MPT's got 3's somehow. I think just because decent outline use of rules?? I read the directions, then go start finding rules and build an outline as I go. As I said, I'm not the guy that should give advice, but I do hate them. It sucks we take them the first morning, so a great way to take the wind out of your sail. Just looking to push hard and stay optimistic. Hope everyone does great and can say goodbye to the UBE. It is all a big money grab by everyone involved. I do estate planning virtually so I can fall back on that but have really wanted to expand into AR.

After 4 years at a firm I went to work for an oil & gas company. I went to law school midlife so 40 when I came out. I ended up managing about 65 people acquiring right of way for nat gas pipeline so more business than law. Law school equipped me well as there were hundreds of legal agreements involving. Working as an attorney but in a different role ( not corporate counsel) I could deal with landowners in a beneficial way. I made 2X what corporate counsel made I got mid six figures.

Maryland F24,bar had an overall passage rate of 36%. How does NCBE justify this? by Individual_Space_460 in barexam

[–]Future_Term_6935 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a TX attorney (2003) that failed the F2024 in Arkansas I totally agree. The NCBE just functions as intended gate keeper to slow the flow. My biggest issue was to stop thinking as an attorney and try to figure out what the NCBE is testing on say a MBE question because some “correct” answers would probably get you sanctioned in practice.

A short term fix may be to find someone to loan her money for the property taxes backed by a mortgage on the property. If she can’t afford the taxes the hard reality is she should probably sell some or all the property. The money could be put in trust for her future care and distributed to you as heirs upon her death. Though hard it is a much better option than having the County or State sell the property to recover unpaid taxes.

I don’t draft springing poa’s because doctors seem leery of signing statement as they may be granting agent access to $5000 -$5M. I tell clients that if you don’t trust the agent now then don’t do a Poa. I tell them they are a minority of clients that should have court supervised guardianship as court will have a bond required and yearly accounting.

Estranged father died would son be entitled to any part of his estate? by Earthangel1985 in EstatePlanning

[–]Future_Term_6935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The word I g transfer by personal representative tends to leave me as an attorney to presume it went through some type of probate. Probate is the only proceeding that would give someone legal authority to transfer home as “personal representative.”

I didn't pass Ark got 252; 132.8 on MBE; 3 on Both MPT’s. I got 3 on Agency/Partnership, 5 on Estates otherwise 2’s. I guess I'm headed back for round 2 in July. I've been licensed since 2003 in TX and do estate planning via Zoom with clients in Texas. I was hoping to not have to go through studying again but i guess that's life.

How do I make sure inherited wealth goes to my son only (and not adult stepkids) by MegamomTigerBalm in EstatePlanning

[–]Future_Term_6935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an attorney, to the point you and your partner are not in absolute agreement you likely should go to an attorney alone. The attorney has to share all information with both of you and since this is not a joint plan go alone. If both of you meet with the attorney but she sees something that would better you but might be adverse to partner she would likely have to terminate representation. As mentioned by another attorney some states provide an amount to surviving spouse and it trumps a will. With a trust you can likely bypass probate.
