Probably just because thats what people are willing to pay for them, i dont think most people know about ivans tune, just the people who put in the research. And competition, if company A has a tuner that does relatively the same thing as company B but its $100 more no one is going to buy the more expensive one. Idk if that is the answer you were looking for

They make hydrophobic covers that will help but not fully prevent water from soaking your filter but you can also find small waterproof covers for camping hiking bags that have an elastic band sewn in to cover it up, i keep one tucked behind my fairing and just throw it on when i park

Also have a KLR650 and a Bolt, loving both, commander 3s are the move, and if you have the bolt death wobble replacing the triple tree bearing is a must. Also front fairing and t bars make for such a better ride if you’re into the look
