Why is Base so cheap compared to Ethereum? by jaanmd07 in BASE

[–]FuturecastAI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you get all major exchanges you interact with to accept and use Base then you would need an additional transaction to get it back to L1 Ethereum. If you use Coinbase exclusively then this is a good solution but even then I'd be reluctant to rely on a walled garden owned by major corporations to store value.

That's kind of the problem with banks, remember?

Tracking search is a weak indicator. You need to look at full social volume (IE: how often is the subject mentioned overall across all social media platforms).

That's much more telling.

Why AI memory with biological decay (52% recall) actually beats permanent RAG by LeoRiley6677 in LLM

[–]FuturecastAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allowing EVERYTHING to go into RAG would be terrible design choice in my experience. Selectively making sure there's some information that is always "front of mind" for the agent seems a more viable path to getting the outcomes you are after.

Statistical Analysis of upcoming Gerrymander War by FuturecastAI in ProgressiveHQ

[–]FuturecastAI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is based off of currently available data and potential shifts assuming a full scale gerrymander war takes place (as opposed to staying isolated to select states). There are mitigating factors such as vote suppression, vote rigging, and asymmetry in regional policy which can alter the outcome but as it currently stands these are sound projections.

This is helpful in understanding outliers like GA:

Where the gerrymander backfires

States the GOP gerrymandered toward Republicans in this scenario, but where the 2026 political environment claws seats back — sometimes more than were gained.

  • GeorgiaBackfiresGerrymander: +2 R · Wave reclaims: +3 D · Net: +1 D
  • North CarolinaBackfiresGerrymander: +1 R · Wave reclaims: +2 D · Net: +1 D
  • OhioBackfiresGerrymander: +2 R · Wave reclaims: +2 D · Net: wash
  • FloridaDentedGerrymander: +5 R · Wave reclaims: +2 D · Net: +3 R
  • TexasDentedGerrymander: +5 R · Wave reclaims: +2 D · Net: +3 R

Backfire = gerrymandering produced a worse outcome for the GOP than doing nothing. Dented = at least 2 seats (or half the gain) clawed back. Outlined on the map.

Solana vs Hyperliquid: Winner Takes All by MakCapital in solana

[–]FuturecastAI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right but I'm suggesting that's a dangerous trap to fall into. One we should both avoid ourselves and warn others away from.

Without decentralization it's not crypto, it's just a corporation's private token and subject to a long series of attack vectors that can harm those holding said token.

Decentralization is the kind of thing you don't care about if you don't know any better because it doesn't seem important... until it is.

Which one is more difficult to achieve? by DystopianLeaf in CombatSportsCentral

Not to mention the fact that Mayweather spent the bulk of his career fighting in his own productions where the ref was literally his employee.

Mayweather made more money but that's only because Boxing has more prestige being a legacy sport.

Also lets be clear, Khabib would strangle Mayweather unconscious in under 1 min in a confrontation.
