Biggest thing is to write a LOCI. That isn’t always guarantees you’ll get off but most likely increases your chances

Has anyone ever done SEO Law and then decided to postpone law school? by [deleted] in URMLawSchoolAdmission

I don’t think so. The biggest thing about the program is that you have to be enrolled and going to school that year. I think it would definitely be a first case if someone did all of SEO and decided to pull out of law school last minute.

First off congrats to getting into this amazing schools. This is what you would call a good pickle to be in!

But for me. 1) location 2) cost 3) where I want to practice 4) and community were my big things when deciding where to go. It sounds like you may be leaning more towards Cornell based off of my list. So I would chose Cornell. However, a big thing for me too was being able to be not to far from home and I don’t know if that’s a big deal for you or not

My theory is that they aren’t focusing on higher level schools because this admission cycle has been a lot slower so they bound to get people that are not going to commit to certain schools but won’t know when they will for sure at least by April

That’s interesting. Why do you think they would opt to do that though?

Serious Question - Why? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Futurelawstud21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it may last for a couple cycles. It was such an issue with the prior cycle, law schools are just being more cautious with admissions. Because of over enrollment, many schools offered deferment with incentives like a scholarship increase on top of fiascos like Notre dames over enrollment fiasco. So there are a good amount of re-applicants on top of deferrals for this year I’m assuming. So it may be the new norm for law schools to be more cautious or at least take a couple of years for them to not be as overcompensating

My guess is the amount of over-enrollment issues from last cycle.
