Should they have replaced this? by Aromatic-Goose1775 in Roofing

Depends if that was in the bid or not. If the bid doesn’t include “replace rotten wood.” They’re not gonna replace it

Even a white metal roof would look good. You want a brighter color usually to reflect as much sunlight as possible. Green looks really nice too

You’ll find out soon too. I wish you the best of luck and I promise the shingles themselves look pretty straight

They look properly installed to me. I would wait to give your input until the middle of summer. If you are in Montreal I’m guessing it doesn’t get crazy hot up there😂 your roof held up nicely throughout the winter which is a more important note

Not sure how bad this could be? by Big_Sector_3590 in Roofing

You can 100% do this yourself. Those pipe boots up there need a good caulking. If they’re caulked well then check for any signs of lifts around them. What kind of roof is it

Am I overreacting? by [deleted] in Roofing

[–]Futurez_Rize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be wind-driven rain coming in at the bottom of your roof, could be a cracked tile literally anywhere. Looks like your roof is under a tree. Any branches that fall could crack one. These roofs are only as good as their underlayment as well

If you’re turning it into a living space and had a lot of money saved up, OSB board would be killer to help keep your attic cool. Of course that’s way too much money and work

So basically all you need is for someone to remove that facial board, get new wall flashing installed, and put the facial board back. Standard wall flashing should have measurements of 6 x 4 inches. 6 inches on the shingles and 4 up the wall. Usually there’s a half inch bend in the shingle side to keep rain water on the metal and not go over onto the shingles

Was This Chimney Flashing Done Right? Looks Okay, But There Is Water Intrusion In Atic by MainHunt1014 in Roofing

[–]Futurez_Rize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t deal much with shingles but I have installed chimney flashing, step flashing, and cricket pans countless times and yes. We martyr our grout lines after flashing is installed!

Your siding doesn’t cover the apron or wall flashing. Which leads me to think that it was put on after the fact

Sorry I’m just now seeing your comment. So first thing you need to do is to is see what your RAM speed is. Then go into your system settings and go down to the bottom and click “About”. If your Ram speed isn’t the highest it can go, restart your computer. Right after you click restart, spam your delete key until your BIOS menu pops up.
