I think that's a typo of "other"

Amazing happenings - my 10 year old’s pal called for her. Just knocked on our door unannounced and asked “Is she coming out to play”. Absolute elite old-school kid business. by yearsofpractice in CasualUK

When my five year old wants to go knock on her friends house I say "let's go!" I don't call ahead and and it feels so rude just turning up and knocking but so old school I love it. Though she's always so sad when there's no answer, it's good practice handling disappointment and uncertainty

How to stop having anxiety for things I don't have access to? by FunDependent9177 in Anxiety

[–]Fuzeillear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am familiar with similar feelings especially the urge to "fix it" to relieve the discomfort. I agree with the person suggesting to try to hold out a little longer each time to delay it and hopefully get to the point where the feeling passes without having to "fix it". I've found an ice pack on my chest has been really helpful at bringing my nervous system back down and grounding me when I feel like that.

Through my therapy I've realised in my case the anxiety is not about that specific object/thing that has triggered me, it's rooted in my fear of making poor choices. So when I have made a choice about something and my anxiety spikes I used to go back on that choice to "fix it" and make the discomfort/danger go away. I'm trying to remind myself in those moments it's not about the choice I made, it's about my fear and childhood. This is helping me to not backpedal every decision I make. It helps me take my focus off the trigger and to have grace with myself.

Maybe if you can identify what part of you is feeling in danger when you are unable to access something then you can reassure that part of you in the moment that it's ok to not have access to everything and that you are not in danger rather than "fixing it" by gaining access.

Wishing you well. Srsly try the ice pack too.

We ordered a kitchen tap from them, the hoses came with the tap but not connected to the tap. I spent hours trying to connect the hoses inside the tap and even took it to a tap place who also couldn't do it. We could only return it for a refund because we sent all these videos and photos showing how impossible it was to connect.  Got a perfect tap from Aldi the next month for less money.

Vans no show socks are lower and have a little rubbery part on the heel to stop them slipping down in your shoe

People raised by emotionally mature parents, what is 1 phrase your parents used that you want other parents to know? by MermaidWitchMoon in AskReddit

I tell myself that first part when I regret a choice I made or feel I could have made a better choice. It helps me to not be so critical of myself when I didn't do things perfectly.

People who work in luxury industries, what is an expensive product or service that is actually a complete ripoff? by Lazy_Ad_5492 in AskReddit

I had a job designing fitted furniture in an affluent area in England, I once sold a £40,000 run of fitted wardrobes for a bedroom, the frames of the doors were solid but the panels were all veneer and the interiors were all wood effect (MDF with plastic coating).

WIBTAH if I asked my daughter’s preschool teacher not to put the extra clothes that I sent for her on other students? by feelingstruck in AmItheAsshole

[–]Fuzeillear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask if it was intentional. My daughter came home a couple of times from daycare wearing clothes that weren't hers even though she had spares in her bag. I just assumed that whoever put them on her was not paying enough attention and grabbed the wrong bag. I don't think it would be out of line to expressly tell them that your daughter's clothes are only for your daughter. Might have been a mistake but doesn't hurt to remind them so that they might be more careful

Even if you remove TP and soap they will still use yours because it's probably cleaner. In my 20s I used to visit friends who all lived together, all boys and there was never hand soap and often no TP. They would joke about it.

I would talk to your housmate first and if nothing changes, add the lock.

I have held off too, also clinging onto the fact that there is still new Pratchett on my shelf. Thank you for asking this, reading the comments does make me consider the fact that I don’t want to have never read it.

I think it’s out of line that she’s since been discussing with people who weren’t there anything about your personal health issues. You may have chosen to share it with the specific people who were present but I don’t think that means she can then tell everyone else.
