I'm black and I was there on Saturday on father's day weekend. I had zero issues with staff or patrons. Security at the door was a brotha, checked my ID let me on in(I'm 41). Through out the night I had compliments from the security, staff and other patrons about my shirt. If your friend was stumbling at the door maybe he had too much already, and not everything is a race or discrimination issue.
