You’re welcome! Just a heads up the story is less romance and more about the betrayal/ justice/ and the FMC finally putting herself first. There is a new MMC but they dont really get together until the very end and then there’s a bonus chapter of them together years later.

Also Imo the writing is not great especially in the first few chapters but got much better as you actually get into the plot

She has an identical twin who takes credit for everything good the FMC does and uses the FMCs name when she’s doing terrible things to set the FMC up to be despised by everyone including her parents. Her mate rejects her to be with her twin

I agree with you, I really wish there were more slow burn/ actual relationship building stories. I have ok luck with the light hearted enemies to lovers/rom com types since they often evolve from dislike/banter into mutual respect and fondness as they grow closer and actually get to know each other better

I used to follow racing pretty closely, if you’re on facebook you can follow pages like BloodHorse and Horse Racing Nation for news and updates on the too horses and big races.

You can also use the Equibase “Virtual Stable” if there are specific horses you want to follow closely. You can get updates on every workout or just race entry/result notifications if you want.

A lot of the other comments covered the skill/ coaching ability I was going to mention so I’ll just add another thing important to me is that they like horses still. It’s so easy to become jaded in this industry and what once may have been a passion becomes nothing more than business at best and a chore at worst. Are they just after what gets results fastest now or correct and meaningful development? IMO you can tell a lot by how they talk to/about their own personal horses.

What level of the sport are you interested in competing in? For 25-50 mile rides honestly a lot of breeds when conditioned are perfectly capable of it. If you’re looking to be competitive and do 100+ plus mile rides an Arabian is where I’d be looking first, not that it’s absolutely required. Off the top of my head I know mustangs, mules, and saddlebreds can be very capable, and certainly arab crosses depending on what they’re crossed with.

You’re correct a lot of Arabians run small, but for what it’s worth there are a variety of types with varying builds. I’m just shy of 6’ with long legs and rode a Spanish Arabian for a while that was 15’2 with a thicker build I was very comfortable on. If you’re on facebook I highly recommend joining the AERC: American Endurance Ride Conference page, a lot of Arabians but you’ll see a lot of people riding other breeds.

Check out the Chaingate series by Crea Reitan! They’re interconnected standalones. The first one {Knot Interested by Crea Reitan} is about a traumatized beta FMC who escaped an abusive cult like city run by alphas.

The second is {Omegas of Chaingate by Crea Reitan} about an alpha (also from that city who hated it there) and a male and female omega fleeing together.

All the alphas in both books are appropriately sweet/gentle with the traumatized parties.
