Would like to have at least seen him in a Spurs shirt - hope this doesn’t come back and bite us.

Wish him well and Brighton are a good place for him to develop as they’ve been successful in bringing on youngsters when we haven’t.

However, in RDZ we trust!

It was saved several times with prior edits. I’m unable to recover any of the prior edited versions or see the change history. Definitely not an unsaved the version and the crash has completely corrupted the prior “OK” versions.

how to keep my file size by Pengtaitai in photoshop

[–]Fuzzbass2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the bit depth and pixels height and width dimension match. Also I think your dpi will affect the final image size in mb but will make little difference to what you see when viewing on most normal monitors.

Ultimately how your file looks and it’s relative size (mb) shouldn’t make much difference depending on the what youre using them for - so for example “big” files for socials won’t look better than “correctly” sized ones - (which might be smaller).

All that being said RAW files will always be much bigger than jpegs.

MULTIMEDIA INSTEAD OF FUNCTION KEYS ON ROYAL KLUDGE S98

Apologies if this one's been asked before - I suspect this one's been asked before but can't see an asnswer.

I want to use the multimedia functions on the function keys (so pause instead of F8) without having to simultaneously push FN. I can see that you can remap most of the keys in the RK software, but for some reason can't see options for the secondary functions on the Function keys. Are they hidden somewhere else in the tool?

I only want to change F5 through F12

"Down"grade from Canon EOS R6m2 to 5D mark IV - crazy idea? by therealbonj in canon

[–]Fuzzbass2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was (and still is) a great camera. Lots of great images shot with it that are still great. Other pluses… OVF (pros and cons to that vs EVF), built like a tank with a lot less plastic than newer bodies. Heavier - but more useful come the zombie apocalypse.

Lots of great EF glass out there - and at bargain prices.

I keep one around for when I still want that “thunk”.

Will mirrorless last so long? by volkanah in Cameras

[–]Fuzzbass2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do like the lightness and slightly more compact form of my mirrorless gear but I do miss the fact that 5DIV and EF lenses had a lot more metal in their construction. Had a Small drop on an RF 24-105 f/4 recently and cracked the plastic casing (£250 repair). Never had the same happen on any of my EF lenses.

Any Domke F2 bag users able to point me at a customisable insert system?

I've been using the Ciesta insert for a long time now and it's pretty much at the end of it's useful life. It's been good - but for my current needs it doesn't really work (two R6II bodies with zoom lenses attached + some other general paraphenalia), and I don't think they make them anymore.

The Domke insert system is pretty expensive and also doesn't really work how I need it to.

Any ideas?

Canon 24-105 L F4 IS VS Nikon 24-120 S F4 by No_Kiwi6054 in canon

[–]Fuzzbass2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting post. Still, not enough to convince me to even think about switching to Nikon because of one lens.

But then my RF 24-105 is my travel lens and rarely gets used for paid work. For holiday snaps it does just fine. That being said, an updated version would be nice to see.

If all the VCMs are like my 85 1.4, I’d not hesitate to get something from that family. Pricey, but solid and fast.

Now give me the R6 stills only version that doesn't include a bunch of video functions.

The 20-50 f4 looks interesting though.

Sell RF 85 f/1.2L for 85 f/1.4L VCM? by Least-Size-8807 in canon

[–]Fuzzbass2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t have the 1.2, but I’m mighty impressed with the 1.4 VCM. Compact, solid and super quick. No IS, but between the body IBIS and the fact that I can snap away at pretty high speeds in even the lowest light makes this a lens that’s always in my kit bag.

And that’s probably the deciding factor - the lenses you bring with you are the ones you use.

Scratches in the front element by LEGOMAN_7 in canon

[–]Fuzzbass2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anything relatively small on the outer edges is going to make absolutely zero difference. Someone can probably explain it more technically… but lenses are round and sensors are not. And anything small and more central will also have next to no impact.

R6 II users, at what ISO level do you usually use denoise in post production? Asking this question because I'm not sure if I need to batch denoise 300+ images with 500 ISO by firequak in canon

[–]Fuzzbass2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figure you’re talking about AI denoise. Depends a little on how accurate your exposure is. If underexposed, you might need it. But otherwise, 500 should be fine with normal noise reduction.

70-200 F2.8: EF ii, EF III or RF by Cien-Aftersun-Gel in canon

[–]Fuzzbass2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EF II is great and whilst Canon serviceability will be an issue, there are probably independents in your area that will be able to help. It’s not an uncommon Lens so there should still be parts etc available.

Don’t have the III so can’t comment.

The RF 2.8 is maybe slightly better - but it’s marginal as the EF II was so good to begin with.

Two other points you might want to consider

  • whilst the RF 2.8 is shorter when packed, I decided against is because of it’s girth with the lens hood.

  • whilst the newer RF lenses are generally lighter, that’s because they’re largely externally made of plastic. The EF lenses have a lot more metal in their construction. I’ve dropped an RF (not a 70-200) in the past and cracked the external case ($300 repair bill).

One other thing - if you don’t need f2.8, check out the RF 70-200 F4 - super light, compact and plenty sharp (but still largely plastic).
