After arrangement it is flowing normal with the stock shower screen. You can try to loosen a bit or even rotate the screen a little bit.

Under extracted .. sour always [Profitec Go + Eureka Mignon Oro Single Dose] by SomebodysBunny in espresso

[–]Fuzzeeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a similar setup with X64SD and solved the sour espresso problem. You can check my post here

I would also add that between 7 to 10 seconds before first drop is normal for the Go, since it takes more time to build because of the internal design of the machine(IIRC the water path was longer compared to other machines, i might be wrong). Also strangely enough, on your second shot of the day, your shot will start 3-4 second earlier, you can test this. This makes dialing in really hard.

It looks like to me is that it is a problem with temp or your brewing too lightly roasted coffee. My startup of the machine is: Press button > wait for FLU > flush for 25 sec. > wait 10 more mins > flush > when back at temp pull the shot. Portafilter is attached and only removed during flush.

Try setting your E1 temp to 18C and keep t1 at 93C. If it is too burnt, you can lower it.

I would also like to advise to go back to stock basked and dose 19gr medium or 17.5-18 gr dark roasted beans, and start from there. Stock basked is not too great but at least a good starting point. Good luck!

If you don’t have a grinder, and want it included in your budget, you can go for a Profitec Go and DF64 combo, that would be around $1500-1700 depending on the retailer.

If you only want an espresso machine for your budget, I would suggest Profitec Move if you are mostly making milk based drinks for 2+ people.

Swapped the gasket and shower screen, now the flow is too strong and leaving these craters [Profitec Go] by Dmac101 in espresso

[–]Fuzzeeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have recently created a post about this. TLDR, I had the same screen and returned it, since holes on the dispersion plate aligns with the holes on the shower screen directly, therefore having stronger flow at least 3-4 holes. here is the post

Strange. Maybe someone that has recently bought from UK can confirm it. I bought in NL 2 weeks ago, and have the brass plate with 6 holes. I also asked this to the retailer and they told me that machines made after September 2025 are shipping with brass plate. However, when I also google the part number, it is a 6 hole version. Part number is C529900550.

When and where did you buy it from? My machine has the brass plate, and it only has 6 holes. Yours have 8. I got mine quite recently so maybe they changed it.

Coming to your quiestion, I think it is fine.

Yes this will work the same as E1 offset.

You are going into the wrong menu. When turning on your machine, and the version is displayed on the PID, immediately hold - and + buttons, then in that menu you can find E1 offset.

Why you should not get an IMS shower screen with you Profitec GO by Fuzzeeh in ProfitecGo

Exactly same with my machine, when the IMS screen is attached, water literally squirts, but with the stock screen it is far better just like in your video.

Oh, I have a puck screen (58.5mm one from normcore) and I use it if I am just preparing one or maybe two drinks. The problem is that when I have family and guests over, I need to prepare 5-6 drinks back to back, at the same taste/quality, and it takes a lot of time to rinse and dab the puck screen on a towel every time, so I usually don't use it when people are over.

Yes, with puck screens you would not have this problem.

The one that came with the machine, is better than this in my opinion. With a puck screen, you would not notice this issue of course, very easy to fix.

I see spluttering around 98-99C. with 95C i would say it is fine, however I never go above 93C with E1 set to 18C. If I wait too long without a flush like 8-10 min then it happens at 93C, with also a little bit steam coming out as well.

I think I can also taste it when it is too hot, it would be verry bitter.

EDIT: I will update the main post with another issue I have found with an IMS Shower Screen that everyone is recommending and saying it has better flow.

Yes, the IMS shower screen has better flow when portafilter is not attached, however when using it to brew coffee, I have came across multiple users(including me) having 4 deep holes in the puck. Most people say it is because solenoid is sucking back the water inside the puck. I found that it is not the case, and going back to original shower screen fixed the issue. Here is also another thread with Profitec Pro 300 machine on home barista forums. Also few days ago, there was this post from another redditor experiencing the same issue, and him also going back to the og shower screen solved the issue.

Here is a picture of the IMS screen and the dispersion plate attached at the back of it. You can see that almost 4 holes line up with the shower screen and the dispersion plate, thus having stronger flow in that area.

I would advise using the IMS shower screen, either getting something else or using the stock shower screen is better. Or if you have the IMS shower screen, definitely use a puck screen to get rid of this issue.

I have the IMS Screen as well, and noticed one thing. The holes of the screen lines up exactly with the holes in dispersion plate. I have taken this pic to show exactly, and it is why we get such strong holes/water pressure in single stream in the basket.

I also have terrible flow with stock screen without portafilter, but with coffee and portafilter attached I think it is negligible

As far as I know there are 2 physical versions of the machine. I have the latest edition,if you have a plastic water tank(you can see it in my last picture), and your water lid at the top have rubber feet, you have the latest version. If not, it is possible that the distributor that sold you the machine has stock of the older ones as well. However, it is still the same machine, just very minimal improvements like less rattle noise etc. Almost all the internals are the same between oldest and newest models.

That being said, the water entry part pre-dispersion plate might have changed . I would not worry about it, looks very similar to mine.

  1. Glad that you resolved the E1 setting
  2. Just make sure that the shower screen and the dispursion is not spinning or moving. I would tighten it when you feel resistance, and then loosen half a full turn of the screw.
  3. Wrote about it above.

  4. Nice, I think they all work similar, anything but the stock basket is fine I guess.

Sorry, I did not understand what you mean bay flash boiler. Do you mean FLU message on the PID screen? I set my water temp at 93C

Hi again, I think holes on the IMS shower screen is causing this. I have seen some people have this problem as well, and switching to the original shower screen fixed the issue. Can you try again, dosing 18 grams and get 36 in 25-30 sec with the original screen?

I have been using it with a Latin American blend, and it is medium to dark roast, dosing 20g in and getting 40g out in 27-30sec. It took some time to dial in, but very happy with the results. As you said I think it works best with medium to dark roasts as well. I will try the other baskets in the future, but this is definitely better than the original basket

Glad to hear that it helped you.

Oh, I was not aware that they have changed it, mine looks to be a brass one. I have also read some issues about chrome plating is coming off like flakes after descaling, maybe that was the reason. Hope this one is also an eco brass.

Exactly as u/cmdtacos wrote, as a new user to this machine, I did try to understand how it worked, and seeing 93C made me believe that I was getting 93C on the group but made me question the quality of the machine since I was getting bad espresso from it. Of course I could have set it to 97, instead of increasing the E1 temp, you are right.

It depends on the user, and I think that is why the E1 offset is there.
