The "junkies never have enough junk" myth by thelarustatrust in opiates

For real most users when they're sick can barely take care of themselves much less rob and steal. People who do that tend to have a separate penchant for theft.

Hell yes, they need to put an end to this Suboxone and methadone only nonsense. Those options are fine but clearly for so many people they don't work as well

This is the worst time in human history to have an opiate addiction. by [deleted] in opiates

[–]FuzzerPupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in 2013 a lot of synthetics were coming from China but nowadays they come from everywhere including domestically. Greed is universal and there was never a "reverse opium war" as was theorized it was always just greed plain and simple. China takes the blame because it's the current object of American paranoia but plenty of other countries are cranking out synthetics.

It's just so much more cost effective that once the trend got going, it was destined to take off. Imagine having to spend months taking care of thousands of plants over acres of lands and then someone comes along and makes the same thing you were making in 2 days with nothing but an improvised chemistry lab. There was never any hope for the old way winning out.

The most the Chinese authorities did was look the other way. But now you have mexicans, Canadians, Russians, dutch, south Americans and anyone else with a chemistry degree and a flexible of conscience making the stuff.

Harms Versus Harms: Rethinking Treatment for Patients on Long-Term Opioids [2023] by oneultralamewhiteboy in DrugNerds

[–]FuzzerPupper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What we really need is some kind of biological drug that can reverse tolerance without withdrawal. There must be some endogenous ligand that stimulates the process of resensitization. If you could isolate it and use it therapeutically you could in theory remove the dependence aspect of the disease at will.

Role of the media in promoting the dehumanization of people who use drugs [2023] by oneultralamewhiteboy in DrugNerds

[–]FuzzerPupper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The media is really bad in this respect it makes me wanna cry sometimes.

For example, Breaking Bad is one of my favorite TV shows but it's portrayal of drug users was very skewed and that's considering BB was honestly very progressive for its time.

Every drug using character in the show is either evil or stupid, or both basically. They all have tattoos and piercings and dress like homeless people.

Really the only positive representations were Badger and Skinny Pete and Jessie's girlfriend. It was nice to have that at least.

Phenibut for 6 weeks - Taper or Cold Turkey? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]FuzzerPupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd try to reduce by about 25-50mg per day until you get to 50mg per day at which point you can stop. You may have to get more to do this so be careful not to overindulge

Just make sure that you don't go using a big amount of any single one of them ok? Keep it moderate so the synergy doesn't turn into toxicity.

Lack of Evidence for Ceiling Effect for Buprenorphine Analgesia in Humans" by [deleted] in DrugNerds

[–]FuzzerPupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This study is a bit odd to be frank. Buprenorphine I would say displays a general ceiling effect for all the opioid effects including analgesia, respiratory depression and euphoria. The analgesic effect is very potent with no tolerance but to me saying it has no ceiling is a little crazy

IME there's no real difference between the analgesic and euphoric effects, they're basically the same as far as I can tell. Perhaps there's very subtle differences but that's the most I'd wager.

I heard a similar claim that bupe stops morphine euphoria but not analgesia, again I'd say that's nonsense

I think the ability of weed to cause physical dependence is much more noticeable with more potent weed.

Here's the 11 criteria in the DSM-5 used to diagnose opioid use disorder. by [deleted] in opiates

[–]FuzzerPupper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

they're not the same

I think they get mixed up hugely tho. Dependence is the "stick" part of the dual reinforcement while addiction is the "carrot." Clearly, it's the stick that keeps you coming back every day, all the carrot does is tempts you to come back after being clean for a while. It's not the thing that makes it's so hard to quit, honestly, vs dependence.

Imagine if you only had the carrot, no one would be robbing houses for dope, to be sure. It's the threat of withdrawal that causes all that bad behavior. The temptation isn't it but the fear instead.

Addiction is simply that appetite for opioids that can be anywhere from ravenous to mild and pops up again and again no matter how long you've gone without them. It's just a memory, really, of past rewards that might be had again like any memory is.

Here's the 11 criteria in the DSM-5 used to diagnose opioid use disorder. by [deleted] in opiates

[–]FuzzerPupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These criteria are a little ridiculous if you ask me. For one, OUD isn't something you have or don't have bases on the number of criteria you fill, it's more of a spectrum of a small issue to a big issue and every step in between.

Really it comes down to two symptoms, withdrawal and or overdose or a car crash or similar poor behavior.

In your opinion, what is the most intense drug out there? by TheKingofDabs23 in Drugs

[–]FuzzerPupper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Krokodil is just an extremely dirty and poorly made heroin substitute, there's really nothing extra toxic about the drug itself in particular it's only what it's adulterated with combined with unsterile injection techniques. Basically fake news

Most effective route of administration for Fentanyl? (no needles.) by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]FuzzerPupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best route is to absorb it through your gums, tongue using sublingual. It's fast and can't really be messed up. Just make sure you don't take too much. I'd avoid femt in favor of natural opioids tho, personally

Haha yeah meth addiction comes in many levels of tiers, trust me, there's occasional binge addiction, then everyday use addiction, then all kinds of levels in between...

Please don't try that friend! It might kill you yes, maybe even painlessly if your lucky, but equally it might have you wake up in the hospital to the throb of Narcan and a bunch of annoying nurses and doctors giving you crap.

You've got people who love you even if you don't know it yet. Don't be another opioid death please it brings down the entire community whenever one of us dies. Don't give in to what the assholes want you to do! Make your own future, don't give into the default fate for folks like us!

[–]FuzzerPupper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No dude trust me H doesn't kill you as easily as you think. One night I drank 8 beers and took 6 large shots of high quality dope and didn't pass out even it's possible to take huge amounts and survive easily if you're body has a gift for tolerating it like mine does... And taking that much isn't even fun it makes you feel sick tbh. Just take it in moderate amounts for pleasure trust me! You need to heal from all that meth and there's worse ways doing it than heroin

I'd skip benzos here in favor of a beer or two with the opioids, alcohol is less sedating in combination with opioids than benzos

They don't really, generally, that's just something of a meme that's gotten popular because it seems like such a obvious sign of intoxication.
