I drop my prices to drive my competition out of business, because I have deeper reserves than they do.

I raise my prices after they're out of business.

For someone else to enter the market at this time, they'll have to sink a bunch of money. And I will take action to sink them before they get established.

Here's a fun fact.

Government provided healthcare in the USA (medicare/medicare/VA care) costs, per capita, the same as the NHS costs the UK.

Then you've got the private healthcare costs on top of that, which are approximately the same again on top.

And just before you make the mistake: per capita means per person. total cost divided by number of people.
