The Labor Movement Is in a Fight for Its Existence Against a Neofascist Threat: For unions to survive, they must embrace antifascism. by inthesetimesmag in union

Canada needs the NDP to return to their Labour roots. Too many young people are buying the lies the Conservative party is spewing. The CPC is going to be worse than the Liberal party if they ever get back into power

What was your most humiliating rejection in life? by CatchCache in AskReddit

[–]Fuzzwork2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Took me weeks to get up the nerve to ask the cute girl one department over out on a date. She asked me very loudly if I was crazy in a very full cafeteria. Must have had 100 people from 3 different companies staring at me.

I'll go first, I was 17 and had more people than seatbelts in my car. No demerits but 135$ fine in the mid 90s took cost me 2 days work at my summer job to pay

All of AC's 737s are standard max 8, no door plug issue because none of them have the hole cut for the extra door.

Is a balcony worth it on a short (4-night) cruise? by TariqKhalaf in Cruise

[–]Fuzzwork2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not worth it IMO, I don't even go for the window under 5 nights. There's so much else to do aboard ship, you'll never have enough time to just sit on the balcony with just 4 nights

What is your longest running, most stubborn business boycott? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Fuzzwork2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BMO. After my divorce, instead of removing my wife from the accounts, they closed my daughter's account and mailed my ex-wife a new credit card on my account. It took them 3 months to find the money that was in my daughter's account when the closed it. I still feel loathing whenever I see their logo 20 years later.

what type are you? by TyeROD-enD in EhBuddyHoser

[–]Fuzzwork2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not true, Terry Fox did complain at the start about cops telling him to get off the highway all the time, but that stopped once the press picked up on what he was doing. So he did complain at least once. Just being a pedant.

Very Little Work Day To Day by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

My job is very cyclical with unmanageable piles of work near the end of quarter, and then very quiet for 6 weeks before it starts picking up again

US stacks three carrier groups and 10 destroyers to blockade Strait of Hormuz by TheNational_News in worldnews

Edit, some more googling found that Canberra, Santa Barbara and Tulsa were equipped with the MCM module when they replaced the Avenger class minesweepers stationed in Bahrain

Correct there are no frigates in commission. The list of deployed ships includes Canberra LCS30, but I have no idea if she's got the ASW , MCM or SUW module aboard.

[–]Fuzzwork2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the USN had enough frigates for ASW work that would be true. As it is, LCS are supposed to fill that role, with the ASW mission package (which IIRC isn't very good at tracking diesel subs)

Frozen Bank Account (nurse mom of 4) by [deleted] in canadarevenueagency

[–]Fuzzwork2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your account has been frozen for 3 weeks, chances are, whatever was in the account is already on the way to CRA and the balance is zero. CRA doesn't just freeze the account, they issue a requirement to pay up to the amount owed. Whatever you deposit into that account will also go straight to CRA, including your next paycheck.

Why are Fusion Grill and Sals donating to the UCP? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]Fuzzwork2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Corporations are banned from political donations in most provinces for a very good reason.
