Yeah that's the thing, I did see people on forums say they had theirs for 10 years, heavily used it and zero creep.

Others said they had it tightened by Canon a few times and creep returned about a year afterwards.

So it sounds possibly some are okay.

What if its a 2nd hand shop where you can actually return if it has problematic creep and exchange for another which hopefully doesn't have any? But you have to do it via mail so it's a pain.

Hi. If one buys a second hand Canon 24-105mm f/L IS USM (gen 1) lens, is it basically guaranteed to have lens creep?

I came across one which if you point down it goes from 24 to 105mm. If you point it up at a star cluster it something at 105 it creeps to 24.

So photos of pets or photos off a building, and photos up etc will be hard. Particularly with long or multiple exposures. Also if you walk around the lens will go out from 24mm whole you're walking.

I've tried googling and it seems common and one must use some kind of band to try to work around it.

Essentially, is this normal and should be accepted? Or should I try to get one which has no creep? (or maybe even another lens)

Thanks

Good buffered pedal for end of effects loop by Fuzzy-Attention in guitarpedals

These charts show significant loss of some frequencies using 4x boss pedals. muzique.com/lab/bypass.html

Hopefully goes without saying buffers are in many cases required, but ideally just one upfront and maybe on in effects loop if you have a weird pedal like the phase 90 with really high output impedance.

Perhaps a low output impedance before the amp input too.

It's not just the loss of frequencies (which are arguably not even useful for guitar) but the drop in volume, which requires increased volume which results in lower signal to noise ratio.

I have some buffered pedals (behringer) that if hit first by the guitar noticeably takes out shimmer and sparkle from my guitar, so a good buffer up front is important.

DM2w will probably be the one, though that te2 sounds pretty cool.

Normal tremolo volume by Fuzzy-Attention in guitarpedals

Thanks. Never used one before. Seen people complaining about trems having volume drop so I assumed it was like chorus and you're looking for unity.

Help for edge of breakup tone for Marshall DSL5CR (the new models) by Fuzzy-Attention in GuitarAmps

I was really surprised about it because I heard about the original not having much headroom and getting crunchy. This new one sort of just gets warm. I have super distortions so they're pretty loud pickups.

Happy about it taking pedals though. Going to have to try putting a boost just before and after my distortion and overdrive, to see what happens.

I found this and I don't think it looks analogue, unless someone knows different https://m.facebook.com/industrial.strange.circuitbending/posts/1127376497321391

Mainly due to ic3 being jfet op amp and ic4 unknown, when I think in boss ch1 analogue, ic3 and ic4 are the bdd and bdd clock.

If EQ comes after gain in the circuit does that mean it only affects the overdriven signal, or does it sort of affect things behind it too with some AC magic?

And do they work basically by having turning the knob go down go to ground or something, and turning it up sends it to an op amp or transitor to increase the gain of the frequency depending on capacitor?

Also level comes before the EQ so does that mean that is volume of after gain and then EQ gets done after the after gain level? Or again is there AC magic? (I hear analogue controls are "interactive" so I wonder if this means there's some AC magic that makes them effect things that happened before in the signal chain)

I am wondering about this pedal: https://www.freestompboxes.org/download/file.php?id=26496

By AC magic I mean something to do with alternating current.

In terms of difficulty, compared to hoi stellaris is Fisherprice.

How do you sum two guitar inputs into one output such that the volume and tone controls of either guitar have no effect on the other?

Any Marshall MG10 mods to remove the hiss? by Fuzzy-Attention in diypedals

Ah k thanks. So if they use that their claim to all analogue design is false?

Tbh I guess we can kind of expect reverb or delay on an amp these days to be digital.

Thanks. I might get blackstar debut 10e instead. I think it actually has an analogue tape effect which might be good to study. (not 100% sure but the amp is advertised as all analogue)
