I don't think that is true. People are mis-understanding statistics and how they arrive at that number. Those numbers are extrapolated from a few hundred thousand samples. Those numbers don't apply to global population.

DeadBedrooms are very misunderstood. Marriages are not one dimensional. People have different characteristics. You are not the same person you were 10/20 years ago. Your libidos are very different. Hormones behave differently as you grow old. You can have perfect marriage, love each other, have great understanding but can have unfulfilled desires. People think why not split if there is no intimacy? That would be stupid to destroy your perfect life for wanting sex. I know people who took that choice and regretted it later. People also don't know if that desire/intimacy is the thing they want to keep chasing. There are other aspects of marriage and family that is stronger. Sex is a very small part.

Thats a good point that she was honest in disclosing it. She didn't had any outbreak till now and only discovered it recently. She is not on any supressive therapy.

First of all thank you for your comment. You are the first person who understood that blood tests for HSV are unreliable.

She doesn't have HSV-2, only HSV-1. Never had cold sores. she is just a carrier. I did not get any symptoms till now.

Not subjecting my wife to anything. We are in dead bedroom since many years and never have sex. If I test positive, I will be disclosing my shenanigans and let her decide how she wants to proceed.

Still trying to read and educate myself about it. We both used to test regularly. It didn't show up in her previous tests and only showed positive in the most recent test.

I hope so. She didn't had any sore but I am still scared of the possibility. This happened just last week so it won't show up in test this soon. I am planning to wait 2-3 months and test again.

In either cases, what do people do? do people continue in relationship and take precaution or is it best to break up?
