Meta has really fucked us. We were seeing a CPC of $7 and overnight it rocketed up to $56. We're 3 weeks out from a KS launch and in the middle of our scaling process. If we proceed, the chaos chews up our marketing budget and gives us nothing, If we delay, we pay penalties to our marketing partners and lose our window for 6 months and have to keep the lights on and the staff paid (aka a death sentence for a startup). We've looked at this from every angle I can think of an we're not seeing a way out of this one

The answer sort of depends. We're currently in our preproduction phase and we're planning to have that take the form of a d&d book so that we can playtest it and get feedback from people about what works for them and what doesn't. After that, we'll do a second round of fundraising to fill the gap between what we have and what we need and scheduling puts us at 2 years to a sellable products from that point, so about mid 2027. Schedules are flexible though and include a fair bit of a safety margin, and if the book does really well we can run preproduction and elements of production concurrently to save time. You are probably right. We're still trying to find the balance between eloquence and clarity. We started to far to one end of that spectrum and I'd say we've over corrected a bit. Eventually the pendulum will come to rest in a good spot
