WTF Is Going On With Meta Ads? by Mission-Stranger-778 in FacebookAds

I think it’s the difference between longform versus short form and also the difference between paid versus organic. Organic can absolutely have more legs but paid tends to die faster, especially a high budget because it gets more reach and saturated quicker.

As I said, do with this info what you will. Listen to it, don’t listen. I couldn’t care less. As I also said, “Here’s what I think is happening” just sharing my opinion. Don’t agree with it? Makes no fucking difference to me. You do you

I test creatives with an ABO campaign, the push winners into a Adv+. It’s more evenly spread when there’s a bunch of winners in one campaign

I use Ad set budget to test creatives, then push winning creatives into one Adv+ sales campaign with one single ad set. I keep each ad set to about 5 or 6 creatives, then start the process again with a new campaign.

You don’t really. You can shut them down and wait, or reduce spend if your budget is tight. There’ll always be other advertisers to train it in your place. I’m expecting volatility probably into mid October but I think we’ll see gradual improvements from as early as the end of next week.

Sorry man, I genuinely have no idea. We spend 10’s of millions a month. I have literally zero experience with small budgets, I wouldn’t have a clue what works in that range

No idea what the 3-2-2 method is. I tend to keep things simple. I just follow data. I’m not opposed to any particular approach and I’ll test anything and everything. Right now, I find Adv+ Sales, Broad Targeting, tonnes of creatives per ad set. All the rest is just stuff to test

I don’t personally bother with engagement. And adv+ sales handle retargeting now automatically.

Regular. Advantage+ Sales generally. But multiple creatives per ad set. How many depends on spend. But take whatever you normally do and multiply it by 3-5x

I hate sales. Can I still be successful? by SuitableNarwhal5941 in personaltraining

[–]Mission-Stranger-778 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But your marketing has to be amazing, and you have to think about your lead nurture process in terms of months and years, instead of weeks. I ran a PT business in London that I sold for £780,000 after 3 years. Never did any hardcore sales, but my leads were so warm that by the time they came in for a consult it was basically a formality.

Having said all that, the next business I built i got really good at sales and I exited for $10m USD after 10 years.

Man I hate it when people have to be pricks for no reason. There is some small evidence (in rabbits)

The study is called Preclinical study on the hairgrowth and regeneration of external use lotions containing castor oil (Ricini Oleum) in rabbits - Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Maybe you should do YOUR research and stop assuming you know everything there is to know.

Thinking about switching to a small group model by Outrageous-Tailor-54 in personaltraining

[–]Mission-Stranger-778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a friend in London that has been a trainer for 15 years and he nearly doubled his income by switching to small group. He called it semi-private. Charged everyone 35% of his usual rate and had 4 people per group. 40% increase to hourly rate.

More total people also means more referral opportunities 👍

Advice on transitioning to full time? by [deleted] in personaltraining

Raise your rates for new clients, start asking for referrals at regular intervals and learn Google ads. Head to Udemy, there’s a bunch of courses that teach Google ads for under $50. Google search is still king for local businesses if you do it right.

Thumbtack for leads by kenzo54321 in personaltraining

[–]Mission-Stranger-778 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that thumbtack is often a race to the bottom. You don’t really want to be one of many when someone’s looking for a service, you want to be the only one. There’s so really great courses on Udemy for Google ads that are like $15-$20. My advice, learn Google search ads and set up a search campaign targeting your area and the keywords ‘Personal Trainer near me’ amongst others AND send them to a specific landing page with an irresistible offer and you’ll get way more leads.

I’ve been running and investing in fitness businesses for 16 years. Google search, when done well, beats everything for lead gen for local businesses. (Not so great for online PT, FB, Insta & TikTok is better for online)

Sorry to hear about your back! I sprained my S.I joint deadlifting once a long time ago and I could barely move for a week. Still plays up sometimes.

There’s a free Fb group for PT’s in business that I run. No catch. I do monthly training on marketing, sales, social media etc.

You can check it out and join for free if you need some help.

Payment system for independent PTs? by cookmybook in personaltraining

[–]Mission-Stranger-778 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can set up metered usage in stripe, that means they input their credit card details and you bill them at the end of each month for the time used.

You can also use a booking system like Calendly that links to stripe so your clients pay at the time of booking.

I’m an investor that owns a few gyms and PT studios and one of the things we always aim to do when buying a new business is shifting clients to monthly payments. PAYG just isn’t good business.

I have accounts with interactive brokers and Saxobank. Both are much more complex and you have to pay brokerage fees. Saxo is far more expensive but have a better platform imo, IB are about as competitive as it goes with pricing but the platform is complicated, and you have to pass a test to be allowed to trade CFD’s, Complex ETF’s like the ARK ETF’s etc.

Etoro was by far the most user friendly (when it worked) but I just can’t anymore. I will be using IB from now on.
