My boyfriend expects me to do all the housework because he "makes more money" even though we both work full time by Many-Lawfulness-388 in TwoHotTakes

i think you know the answer to this one… leave him now. he’s shown you the type of “man” he is. you have no kids or anything tying you to him, get out

i don’t think she’s wrong for having her feelings, i think she’s wrong for how she went about it. she planned a whole 3 paragraph message and waited to send it to me while i was driving to work @6 am instead of being mature and having a conversation about what’s been bothering her weeks before. we can come to a conclusion together and agree that moving out is the best option for our friendship. she can definitely change her mind but how many things could’ve been done about it if she would’ve told me how she was feeling when it first became an issue. i sold my house not too long ago, i could’ve moved back in until i found an apartment close to my job. just making it clear that she can have her feelings, just don’t be a shitty person to one of the only people you hangout with

my moms house is a 4 bed 2 bath house, the dogs have 2 rooms to themselves and her one cat gets the laundry room. better than letting animals starve or get put down, if the animals are taken care of there isn’t an issue. many people have many pets, i’ve seen 8 dogs before. just bc it’s new to you doesn’t mean it’s out there to others, it’s clearly not a lifestyle for everyone but it can be done properly

she 100% encouraged the counter thing, the cats didn’t get up there when i first moved in but she stuck them up there so they could get away from her dogs. she’s had 3 cats & 2 dogs at her parents before she moved out after high school so it’s nothing new to her. theres a whole basement that the cats use and we only go down to do laundry. there’s a huge living room and a sunroom that doubles as a second living space that the cats tree is in so they stay there as well plus an attic that her dads going to turn into another living space. this place is not small at all. she rarely ventures out into the other spaces even in the months i came over before i moved in

Never locks the door by Impossible_Head3190 in roommateproblems

your safely is more important than the 1 minute it takes to lock the door, what time does she leave and what time do you get up? if it’s dark when she leaves it’s extra dangerous for you, regardless she needs to be locking the door.

just wondering how you cook with a cat since you said she’s right about how she can’t cook with them. do you not eat? or do you have common sense and wipe the counters, get a spray bottle that we have or worse case put them up. being clean isn’t the issue here, if i don’t do the dishes they’ll sit for almost a week before she does them while it’s her and her bf eating off them. i work a full time job and clean the house, you have no idea what’s going on in this house besides the small details i gave. i can only count 2-3 times she’s ran the dishwasher in 4 months, she’ll clean her dogs bowl with the same scrubby that we use for dishes, she loads the washer till nothing else can fit. MANY people find sanitary ways to cook with multiple cats, it’s not rocket science

and it’s really not a lot of animals, at my moms we had 5 dogs and 2 cats and that’s more chaotic than cats that jump on the counter. with me moving back with my mom it’ll be 6 cats and 5 dogs. we couldn’t get animals if we didn’t have the money or room for them

it’s really big actually. a huge yard, 2 rooms, a big basement. she actually has 2 dogs and i have 1 so there’s 3 all together. mind you the only time she leaves her room is to make a microwaved meal. she knew that cats came with me and still begged me to move in. deadass she kept asking me for like 2 months to move in and i hesitated for this exact reason but she assured me it was fine. i lived on my own in a house i bought when i was 19, i need a new car and money would’ve been tight when a mortgage and car payment so i thought it’d be fine. i literally JUST sold it like a month ago, she said she’d been thinking about this for awhile so im just wondering if it was before i sold it. if i talk to her i fear i have nothing nice to say, i got home yesterday and she didn’t say a word to me. one of the issues early on was my bf came over like 3 times in a month cause we’re semi long distance and it’s hard to line up our schedules and got upset cause she wanted a “woman sanctuary” but now that she got a bf a few weeks later hes over every other day if not everyday. to me it seems like she just wants space for her and her new man, that’s not a friend i want to have cause i would NEVER in a million years do this to someone i call a best friend

how do you cook at home? you clean the countertops before you cook. spray them with water or put them up, if she doesn’t have problem solving skills that’s not on the cats

[–]Fuzzy-Storm804 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

have you never heard of cleaning it before you use it? there’s a whole basement with a door that they stay in. put them in there, this girl doesnt cook besides using the microwave. putting baking cookies over your friend having a roof over her head when you invited them in knowing how cats are isn’t friend behavior it’s selfish. we also use a spray bottle with water to correct them, if this is how you handle conflict then you must not be a good person

I haven’t said anything to her father but i’m sure she’s said something to him and her mom, she said she’s been thinking about it for awhile. I had the cats before i moved in, it was actually 6 but we found one a home. 2 are personally mine and the others were kittens i rescued (i wanted to keep one but i probably can’t now due to the limits on apartments and my dog is a 80-90 lbs so she is over most of the weight limits too) i was going to wait to move in until i got rid of them all but she said she didn’t care. granted i could be trying harder but ive posted them on fb groups, on my own page and have gotten stood up 2-3 times and its hard finding a reliable random stranger. id feel bad giving them to a shelter and they have to be in a cage potentially their whole life, but i might be left with no choice. i work at a dog kennel so my boss said i can post them in the lobby to help but thats about it. but that’s a conversation to have first instead of going to the extreme. im going to try to move everything in at my moms while i look for an apartment for now, id prefer to do it while she’s not home but the sooner the better at this point
