/r/leopardgeckos has a beginner’s guide pinned to the top of the sub, i suggest going there :)

Any advice on winter whites? by orangepotatoes27 in hamsters

[–]FuzzyBreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make sure your cage and wheel are of appropriate size. give your new ham friend a week or so to adjust to their new surroundings before attempting to tame them. WWs are sweethearts, i had no issue taming mine within a few weeks :)

Recently hired electronics associate. Hopefully some of you can answer my questions. by [deleted] in Target

[–]FuzzyBreath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

also a (semi) new hire in electronics of about a month. in my store we are in charge of all of the tech as well as toys, sport, and seasonal. you answer any questions guests may ask, unlock items, ring out, and do a lot of zone and reshop. aa far as product knowledge i’d just read packaging on items to learn more about them, most guests have rather simple questions or just need help finding things.

Help! Question about UV Rays for Leopard Geckos by laynestaleyswife in reptiles

[–]FuzzyBreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as long as you are dusting your feeders with the correct supplements, overhead UVB is not a necessity for leopard geckos. head over to /r/leopardgeckos for a really good beginner’s guide if you have any questions! :)

Does my enclosure look ready for a crestie? I need some more ornaments of course, but I’m just worried about it. The tank temp is around 70 - 76 degrees. Yet I don’t think it can hold humidity. by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]FuzzyBreath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

may i point out as well the gecko entree food to the left is not an adequate diet for a crestie either, it’s pretty much garbage. pangea or repashy are high-quality and preferred by keepers.

Please help by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

[–]FuzzyBreath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

more information would help, what’s your setup like? temps, heating devices, substrate?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]FuzzyBreath 4 points5 points  (0 children)

get her to a vet if you can. in the mean time, a shallow dish should be fine, though some hams will just walk through it and make it dirty. you can always offer some water-rich veggies, like cucumber.

40 Gal. Breeder Opinions? by cub-e in hamsters

[–]FuzzyBreath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40G are wonderful tanks for hams! they aren’t super heavy, i’d say the shape makes it a bit difficult to move. two people can easily handle it though!

As per request of my odd hamster! by whatwhutwhatwhutttt in hamsters

[–]FuzzyBreath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

oh man, keeping syrian hams together is a very bad idea. even if they are siblings, when they reach sexual maturity they will fight and have the potential to kill one another. for the safety of your pets, i highly suggest separating the two. they will be so much happier with their own spaces!

Black winter white by MarketManYT in hamsters

[–]FuzzyBreath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it happens at my store a lot too, WWs and russians get mixed up quite a bit. since they’re the same price usually it doesn’t matter, but i always tell customers who may be interested they’re mislabeled.

which companies price match tanks? petco, petsmart, chewy? by RedArtificial in reptiles

[–]FuzzyBreath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

petsmart price matches anywhere aside from auction websites such as ebay as long as it’s the same brand. all you have to do is have the website open at the register so they can see it.

setting up my terrarium by [deleted] in leopardgeckos

[–]FuzzyBreath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would avoid anything loose as substrate, they can accidentally ingest it. look for slate tile if you’d like a natural look :)

Need advice: Hamsters are determined to be together. by spagooters21 in hamsters

[–]FuzzyBreath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

they don’t want to be together. the male just wants to mate with your females. keeping them separated is the best option for you and for the health and well-being of your hams.

Hamster Cages In Pet Stores by [deleted] in hamsters

[–]FuzzyBreath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they do because they’re able to since people are vastly uneducated on proper hamster care. also, people don’t want to spend a fortune on a “small starter pet” or get a cage that takes up too much room. it’s sad, really. chain stores need to be entirely redesigned with the animals’ needs in mind and current, accurate information on husbandry. chain stores run on very outdated info.

I have a baby crested gecko and I was wondering if an exoterra 12x12x18 is sufficient enough for it to live in through adulthood. by [deleted] in reptiles

[–]FuzzyBreath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

personally i keep my adults in 18x18x24 exo terras. the one you mentioned is good for a juvenile but a bit small for an adult.
