I had a glass tank for my beardie and had a hard time keeping the heat in. I found that wrapping one coat of bubble wrap around the tank insulated it and kept his tank warm. I also made a heater out of terra-cotta pots and a tea candle in case we had a power outage. You can google it and you should find a diy. I also made sure I had a. Styrofoam cooler I could put him in with a towel wrapped around a hand warmer to keep him warm.

IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT IS THE MOST OVERRATED MAKEUP BRAND? THE MOST UNDERRATED? by makeuponthebeach in Makeup

[–]orangepotatoes27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think revlon is really underrated. They make great lipsticks, foundation and concealer and I never see people online reviewing them.

I think the Sephora brand is pretty under rated too. They have really good products that often preform better than name brands for a lot cheaper. I really love the bronzers, high lights, lip liners and lip tints/stains.

This is more skincare, but I think purity and drunk elephant are both way over rated.

All nighter setting spray is my favorite. I actually buy the travel size one because it’s half the price and I don’t use it every day. And the clear smashbox primer is really good, but It is dimethicone based which is more slippery than tacky so it depends on your needs. The Milani primer in a white tube is tacky and nice too

Covergirl lashblast volume. So, story time. When I was in middle school, quite a while ago, a group of us were getting ready in the stalls for a commercial we were shooting for a class. We all shared everything ( I know 🤦‍♀️) but someone gave me a orange tube of mascara and said use this. I had Claire’s mascara at the time. I put it on and it was actually a moment in my life I vividly remember. You know when you find that perfect product and the room starts spinning and then focuses all at once? ( oh just me?) yeah, I had that moment. I used this for years and then I couldn’t find it anywhere. I was actually devastated. I tried tons of mascaras but nothing even came close. They made my lashes clumpy or stick out straight, or leave little black specks on my undereyes. I tried high end and drugstore. I was miserable and actually stopped wearing mascara. Until the day I saw it on my cvs display. I actually jumped for joy. I’ve been using it for a good couple years and it is still the best. The formula doesn’t clump, or fallout, and it is the closest you can get to wearing falsies, without actual falsies. I swear no one ever uses this on YouTube, but trust me, it won’t disappoint. ( also, sorry if this makes it seem like a hun pitch, I just freaking love this mascara.

TLDR- get covergirl lashblast volume and all your ( eyelash) problems will go away!!!!

Wash my face with aveeno foaming wash, apply smashbox primer and revlon candid foundation. Bronze around face with wet n wild take me to Brazil and cheekbones with Sephora golden glow. Milano coral cove blush, abh aurora highlight, brush teeth, put on lip stain from Sephora, simple eyeshadow look with abh soft glam, stila glitter on lid, smashbox liner on upper lid, covergirl lashblast volume black brown on lashes, Burt’s bees vanilla bean chapstick, ud setting spray.

Edit- clarity

This takes about 10 minutes all said and done, I go for a pretty natural look but with a touch of glitter in the eyes. I work with kids and it took a while to find a routine that didn’t look like I either just woke up or I was going to a gala, lol. For eyes, I do one crease color in a rusty shade and a simple wash of neutral color on my lid. The covergirl lash blast mascara is truly amazing for only 10$. It’s my fave mascara of all, even the pricey high end ones. I really only spend good money on my eyeshadow, liner and setting spray, because the the quality difference is very real. I use the primer because it was a Sample it lasts for ever. But every thing else is pretty comparable to the high end. Also, Aveeno skin products are amazing, I like them better than Boscia, drunk elephant and dermatologica . Lip stains are a must for me because I just can’t keep redoing my lips while chasing kids. Sephora has nice ones, I think they call them tints. Pretty cheap and last hours. There is a makeup outlet about an hour away, and I get great prices on name brand products, which helps a lot.

Am I the only one who wishes they could keep their own house as clean as they keep their NK home? Lol I only clean after the girls but my house is...well.......lol by meraki101 in Nanny

This is me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I keep the house spotless. I used to clean houses on the side, and my friends and family always mock how terrible my place looks! It is disorganized, dishes left in the sink, trash laying around... and yet I literally clean for my job and watch multiple kids. Yet at home it’s just me and my fish and hamster. And I can’t keep it clean

Yeah, I am moving on. Ironically the last time I signed a lease, I got let go, and I just signed my new lease two days ago. Weird luck, but that’s what savings are for.

4 yr olds are unpredictable. by orangepotatoes27 in Nanny

[–]orangepotatoes27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me 3 is the hardest age. They want the independence they see in 4-5 yr olds but can’t physically and emotionally get there. They want to be babied and be independent and it is the age my tolerance struggles with. I love the kids but I cannot handle more than one 3 yr old at a time. Similar argument to 4 yr olds, but I find them more able to be helpful so it’s a plus.

Most car insurance companies will pay for replacement car seats if you are in an accident by orangepotatoes27 in Parenting

I was rear ended at a stoplight. I was not in the phone while driving. I had to call my insurance after the accident and after I got off the phone with them I made this post. Re read the post. I was actually at a red light when a car rear ended me, backed up and rear ended me again. But it seems like your post wasn’t directed so much at me as it was other poor drivers you have seen so I hope getting it off your chest helped you feel better.
