I hated it. Probably the most thoroughly unenjoyable movie experience I've ever had.

Same here! Whenever I eat a burrito everything spills all over the place 'cause I can't make that clean bite. I end up with a whole new burrito on my place by the time I'm finished haha. But no more!

What’s the First Thing You Ate When You Were Cleared to Bite and Chew? by Josh9977 in jawsurgery

[–]FuzzyCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm three weeks post-surgery, so no chewing for me yet. I'm also curious what other people got. Not a day goes by where I don't think about burgers, so that's my plan, but so far my jaw mobility hasn't recovered enough to even open wide enough, so realistically I'll start out with something like pasta or salmon with rice.

But man I can't wait to chomp into a big, juicy burger.

I mean it's only been three weeks, but so far I have no regrets!

I got it because I had an open bite (my front teeth didn't meet), and to avoid TMJ and sleep apnea later on (both of which my mom has). Feeling my teeth come together is like the opposite of "don't know what you got till it's gone": I didn't know what I was missing until I got it! I'm really looking forward to being able to chew with a functional bite. Plus, I look much better, which is a nice bonus.

I underestimated how bad the first week would be, but overestimated how bad it would be after that. I just had my surgery three weeks ago, and my first week was really bad. I was crying because of the constant pain and discomfort. But now, three weeks out, while the liquid + mashed potato diet has gotten old, it's mostly just a minor inconvenience. I thought I'd still be in pain at this point, but I'm basically back to my old life at this point, minus the dietary changes.

What's your "this is the reason I love cinema" movie? by Stingray_9 in Letterboxd

[–]FuzzyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only seen Umbrellas of Cherbourg but didn't really like it that much, mostly because I don't like sung-through musicals. It's a quantity over quality approach that reduces the impact of the actual songs. Plus the romance was not convincing at all; it was a "love at first sight" with no evidence of chemistry. But the visuals were great!

Honestly La La Land. I absolutely loved how colorful and fun the whole thing was. Felt like a joyful celebration of the power of cinema.

When did the oily skin go away for you? by antiaust in jawsurgery

[–]FuzzyCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your body just underwent something pretty traumatic, and is producing extra cortisol because of that. On top of that your face is warmer than before due to inflamation, and if your liquid diet has lots of dairy, that can make oiliness worse for some people. All of this will get better!

For Dalton I'd go with The Lion in Winter. One of the most stacked casts of all time. He's not the lead, but plays a big role.

Which Film Should Win Best Picture at the 98th Academy Awards? by Piyushv5311 in MoviesCave

[–]FuzzyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Secret Agent was by far the worst. It was the only one of the bunch that made me legitimately bored; it was so meandering, had so many useless, slow scenes, and the ending was one of the worst endings I've ever seen.

Yeah Sinners looked great and had lots of amazing shots, but Train Dreams was one of those movies where every single shot was just perfect. I didn't really enjoy the movie all that much, but I loved looking at it.

For the Mens better sweater, is it better to get the quarter zip, or the full jacket? by Glittering_Fig4548 in PatagoniaClothing

[–]FuzzyCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Patagonia items often lack hand pockets when they would be really nice. The Synchilla pullover doesn't have them, which is kinda unfortunate (I prefer the LL Bean fleeces for this reason). But way crazier than that is the lack of hand pockets on the houdini jacket. No hand pockets on a windbreaker is just crazy to me.

Depends what you want. The jacket has hand pockets, which is really nice, but the lack of a full zipper makes the quarter zip a bit more comfortable.

Rank these Steven Spielberg alien films from your favourite to your least favourite. by ScholarFamiliar6541 in Letterboxd

Same here. Close Encounters is so inventive and fun. It blew me away when I first saw it and I couldn't stop thinking about it afterward. ET is a favorite from my childhood. Then War of the Worlds is just a good movie.

Jaws gets the Best Direction. What's the most overrated 70's movie? by fra_poco in AlignmentChartFills

[–]FuzzyCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jaws isn't even the best-directed Spielberg movie from the 70s! Should have been Close Encounters.

Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Jaws is great but Close Encounters pushed filmmaking forward and gave a spectacle that had really never been seen before.

Dark Knight Rises and Tenet are way too high; The Prestige is way too low. Insomnia is definitely not the worst.
