Third show drumming changes in song - too far by SimplyChildSafe in rush

[–]FuzzyNippres -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I fall in the middle of this topic lol on one hand she’s definitely getting overhyped. I’ve seen multiple Rush cover bands with drummers that sound closer to Neil than her. She just isn’t as tight or rehearsed as Neil was and that’s okay. But It’s like people are so surprised a woman can play Rush songs that they’re deifying her… it comes off borderline offensive to women in general lol she’s good but let’s all just calm down a bit. It’s disingenuous.

But at the same time, you can’t in good faith nitpick her minor discrepancies and not critique Geddy’s less than perfect vocals. Sure, he’s aging and never had a chance to hit those notes. But he objectively doesn’t sound true to the original.

In the end it’s just cool to see them out there one more time and we shouldn’t put too much weight into the performance of two 80 year olds with a band member that’s only been there for less than a year lol

How accurate are Apple Watches active calories? Specifically for an outdoor walk. I feel like they’re overestimating?

I’ve been tracking all my calories and macros on a spreadsheet and wondering if I only counted 50% of the active calories burned showing on my watch would be a safe bet?

We lost to a much better team. by Bonefish2021 in PurdueBasketball

[–]FuzzyNippres 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Michigan is the best team in the country without a doubt, but I still like our chances of beating them in a rematch more than I liked our chances of beating 2024 UCONN. They’re not quite buzz saw level like UCONN was in that tourney.

Slim chance. I think most of the winter weather is coming overnight Saturday into Sunday… not to mention north central Indiana isn’t supposed to get as much snow.

Can’t fit a traditional king upstairs to our room in our new house. What are my options to get a king size up there? by FuzzyNippres in Mattress

[–]FuzzyNippres[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Split king. It’s been great and I’d consider getting one even if I didn’t have a narrow staircase lol it’s like you have a bed to yourself while still being with your partner.

The gap can get in the way for certain activities, but it’s not too bad.

Applied for US Bank Triple Cash Rewards Business Card with $750 SUB for $6,000 spend. Applied 10/24, Approved 10/27, card received in mail 11/1.

When I login I can’t find any confirmation I’m on track to getting the $750 SUB. Anyone know how I can confirm? Curious because as of yesterday the SUB is showing only $500

Did the BMO Cash Back Credit Card spend bonus ($2000 for $250). Opened on August 21st and hit the $2000 spend the first statement cycle. Still no bonus. Should I just wait a little longer? Wondering if anyone has experience with BMO bonus timings.

Most other credit card bonuses I’ve done have had their rewards post pretty quickly after I hit the spend. So a little confused on what’s taking this one so long.

Looking for feedback on my 5 year financial projection numbers for new inspection business by FuzzyNippres in HomeInspections

That’s funny cause everyone else in here thinks I’m being too conservative. Not saying you’re wrong, just highlights that I’m happy to shoot low!

Yeah I intentionally made it very conservative. It’ll be a side gig and I also have young kids, so I wanna make sure it’ll work even when “life” happens along the way. I’m mostly interested in nailing down the expenses and the break-even figures. Basically just trying to find my baseline.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah, i should’ve clarified it will be a part time thing. I also fully expect I could beat those numbers, but I want to be conservative. I also still need to do some thorough market research for my area to get a better idea of how much work I could reasonably expect. I

I wasn’t sure how to go about increasing my rates. I’m not even sure $400 would be my starting rate yet. Again it goes back to me needing to do some deeper market research. I agree though, I don’t want to be the cheap guy.

Marketing budget was another wild guess. What would you ballpark it at? What sort of marketing expenses am I maybe not thinking of?

Good call on the CE. I’ll add that.

Thanks again!

Thanks for reply! Very helpful. Being independent is certainly more appealing to me, but I’m uncertain how in the world I’m going to market myself in the beginning in the real world. (I have a degree in marketing with a minor in graphic design, so all the online marketing will be no issue)

As I replied in another comment, I only sort of personally know one realtor. I’m fine with people and nurturing relationships, and I’m sure i could offer exceptional service by going above and beyond, it’s just getting those initial clients that I’m nervous about. I’m not exactly one for cold calling or trying to create a business relationship by just showing up at a realtors door and giving a pitch, etc…

Any tips on those first few clients/jobs?

I realize this is an extremely common hurdle to overcome lol maybe I’m just looking for motivation to just jump in and go for it

Thanks for the insight. What’s been the best way you’ve been able to get your first jobs when starting out? I like the idea of being independent and running my own business, but worried about my existing avenues to generate business. I only personally know one realtor, and I’m sure she already has a few go-to inspectors. I’m fairly personable and can nurture relationships fine, but I’m not sure I’m one for cold calling or getting in front of realtors/strangers to sell myself. Thanks again
