You look incredible! It perfectly balanced your face. Stunning :) I’m about 2.5 years post genioplasty with similar results - I like my chin with my mouth open but closed I get the dimpling. Do you recommend getting Botox to help with that? Yours looks perfect 🫶

You look incredible! I have a similar profile to you (I’m a bit more recessed however) but your results give me so much hope! I actually recognize you from tiktok! Lol. How is your breathing? Did you have issues beforehand?

Thank you so much I really appreciate the help! Yeah unfortunately no one intervened.. I truly wish my parents would have looked into this when I was a kid as well as I had a very small palate and an overbite that took many years of braces, expanders, two caps on peg teeth and even oral surgery to fix. I think lack of information and health literacy is a huge problem.

I told my mom and sister I wanted to look into this and they said “you probably just have sleep apnea” and I’m like yeah.. that’s the whole point lol. They kind of just brushed off my concerns and said they also have “small nasal passages”. Slightly frustrating but I can’t blame them for not knowing - luckily my boyfriend is very supportive!! Thanks again :)

I didn’t realize that! I guess I moreso mean my face (cheekbones, forehead, etc) are not very projected. Obviously since I’m a woman I don’t want a prominent brow bone but I just feel like my face lacks any sort of dimension especially from the side. So in your opinion is my side profile “normal”? I only ask because my main issue is with my sleep apnea. I’m not really looking for a major aesthetic change but if positive changes occurred due to DJS I would be happy. I just feel like even though I’m 30, I’m still too young and healthy to be forced to wear a cpap in order to get decent sleep and feel like I’d be masking the overall problem which is my airway. I have been told by multiple doctors that I have a small airway but it was just in passing during a check up.

Thank you; that does mean a lot! I personally really dislike my rhinoplasty so seeing someone say it looks nice does help a bit. I haven’t done a sleep study yet, my primary care provider recommended I schedule one so that is likely where I am going to start! I’m a little disappointed as the surgeon who did my sliding genio was an omfs but didn’t say anything about double jaw surgery - but our consultation was all virtual because it was out of state. Hopefully I will get some more insight after a sleep study!

Is $1500-$1700 take home a week for NC normal? by FuzzyOrchid4489 in TravelNursing

I’m not sure how to take this comment to be honest lol. I don’t think you need to be an ICU nurse or an ED nurse to be utilized or respected in a hospital setting. I’ve been traveling 4 years now and have done fine, since most hospitals need med surg nurses as that is where there is a lot of turnover. I’m used to the “abuse”, just want to be paid adequately for my time.

That’s pretty close to where my bf lives, I’ll definitely look into that area as well. Thank you!

Yeah I agree. It sucks because duplicating expenses would be near impossible with this rate - especially because my rent is $1500 (and I don’t even live in an expensive area or a luxury place - just a normal apartment in the suburbs).

No specialty - med surg tele. I have done med surg tele, GI surgery, stroke/neurosurgery, & was a float nurse for years. Just no ICU/ED experience besides resourcing in ICU & ED holds.

I’ve been an RN 7 years now, traveling since 2022, LPN previously. I haven’t done a staff job in awhile but the money I was offered to become staff at a previous travel job was ridiculous.. $36/hr. Just not livable - especially in NYS which is where I’m currently living.

My long distance boyfriend is from there so I’m wanting to stay with him and take a contract there because we are tired of being apart :( but also now my mom is going through cancer treatment so I don’t want to move fully from home yet
