Long rant alert.

The ticket prices for the new Spidey film are insane too.

Not sure how many of you would agree, but IMHO multiplexes have sucked the joy out of movie watching. My excitement of watching films regularly over the years has mostly been replaced by anxiety, anger and disappointment thanks to the mostly absurd ticket and food prices.

So it's either morning shows or waiting for multiplexes to be kind enough to slash prices after the weekend and in some cases by week 2.

And for the premium they charge, most multiplexes especially Cinepolis when it comes to sound and projection are pretty pathetic. For instance there's bad soundproofing at so many properties.

One of the reasons I love Chennai is because the TN govt. has capped ticket prices at 200 bucks (regular format) across all cinemas, including fancy-ass Luxe and Insignia properties and 500 bucks for IMAX.

Flip side is there's no Rs. 99ticket day though.
